Trying To Get Things Done and Packing Up For Our Move.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

After both of us having recently had nights with very little sleep we both managed to sleep soundly last night. Knowing it could take days to recover from lost sleep it didn’t surprise us when we both slept until nearly 9:00 this morning. What did surprise us was we slept so soundly with the Air Conditioner running the entire night.
Not only was this Robin Sunbathing
it was also bathing in the Mulch.
By the time we had breakfast and did our morning reading then our chores it was nearly noon hour. The only thing I managed to accomplish outside was standing the Wood Panels that I stained yesterday out in the Sun to be certain they were dry. We also hoped that would get rid of the smell of the stain as well. I also gathered a few more tools for one of the things I wanted to scratch off our To-Do List

Inside Kathy was gathering things to make our lunch with. After I washed my hands Kathy had me slice the Ham and Swiss Cheese that she put on Weight Watchers Low Cal Bread. For dessert Kathy had me chopping the last of a Pineapple we had before she topped them with a couple of Maraschino Cherries for added flavouring.

My first chore after lunch was to find out why our Television Set in the living room was no longer able to latch for travel. After returning from the southwest in the spring I remounted our WiFi Cable Router and Modem behind the Television for appearance sake making things look cleaner on the Fireplace Mantel. From what I could see the cable connections behind the Modem were in the way. Instead of working at arms-length to fix this I removed the television and put it on the couch. After moving the Modem, fastening the Wires out of the way and rehanging the Television I was in for a big disappointment. Using a mirror to see behind the Set the wires were no longer in the way but the Modem itself was too thick to mount at that location. We’ll have to come up with some other location.

The other day when we tried to extend our Electric Awning nothing would happen. We have only used it about a dozen times so that was a surprise. After being unable to fix the Television I started checking the Fuses in the Electrical Panel. Not finding any burnt fuses tells me there is a problem with our Awning Drive Motor.

Kathy wanted to get started packing things from the Cabinets on the Roadside Slide. This is the slide that started giving us problems the day after we headed south last Fall. When the problem was finally properly diagnosed we were told the fix would take at least three days. Since the Slide will have to be completely removed we will not be able to stay in our trailer and we have to empty everything out of the slide including everything in the Fridge/Freezer. After assembling four boxes we purchased for our move from our apartment that had been emptied we started packing. Since we’ll be spending time in a Hotel while all the repairs are being made Kathy also packed a bag of Office Supplies we’ll be bringing with us. There are presently three boxes in the back seat of the truck and another only a third full on our couch. That’ll get filled before we pull the trailer off its site next Monday.

Kathy thought a Tomato Bacon on Rye Sandwich with a bowl of Chicken and Rice Soup would be good for supper and she was right. After supper we made additions to the list of Warranty Repairs that will be needed. We’ve got a few more hot days heading our way before we get a bit of a cooldown but we’ll continue getting more things accomplished before the weekend. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. It's crappy that you have to vacate your RV for so long to have the slide fixed but hopefully you can look at it as a holiday.

  2. Definitely one of the down sides of the fulltimer's life, when having major rv repairs done.

  3. At least you don't have to deal with animals. I'm going to miss the home cooked meals Kathy prepares!! LOL

  4. Yup, with a RV there is always something to fix. Wait..... with a house too! It just that with a house you don't have to move out of it while repairs are done.
