Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
With the return of the High Humidex we had no choice but to
turn the Air-Conditioner on
yesterday. There is however an unfortunate drawback when trying to sleep with
the A.C. running at night and that
is that you don’t sleep as well as when you have the windows open and are
breathing all that fresh air. Kathy spent most of her night Tossing and Turning along with Staring
at the Ceiling. I fortunately only remembered Rolling Over once before waking up this morning just before 8:30.
We were finished eating and
sitting at the Computers by 9:00
getting our Morning Reading and Coffee/Tea consumption done at the same
time. It didn’t matter if we weren’t finished at 10:00 we had to scramble in
preparation for Mary’s visit from Healthy Heals at
11:00.
With the indoor chores
finished I went outside first to move our truck over to the Overflow Parking
Area over by the Clubhouse which
would give Mary a spot to park when she arrived. I was surprised how much
cooler it was outside today especially with the North Wind that was gusting up to 30 MPH. Moments later I was in the process of picking a few pieces
of trash that had blown on to our site when Mary arrived. After helping her get
her equipment inside I returned to doing more outside organizing.
Kathy explained how there
is a continued pressure that she feels in the one toe nail even after it’s
trimmed as far back as it can go. Mary then put Kathy in contact with a
different Pediatrist then the one
that Kathy’s dealt with in the past to see if they can come up with a better
treatment.
As soon as Mary left Kathy scrambled
to make a couple of Ham on Swiss with Pickles Sandwiches with Coleslaw
and Clementine Oranges as sides.
I busied myself shutting down the A.C.
and opening as many windows as possible. While we were having lunch, we discussed
errands that needed to be run today so we made a quick change to our afternoon
plans.
By 1:00 we were on our way
to Windsor
where our first stop was Cakes ETC to
drop off a picture we needed made for a cake our son Kevin will be making next
week.
From there we headed over
to Guardian
Storage to pick up our Mail. While I was busy opening our Mailbox Carol came forward and handed
me a package apologizing that our Contact
Information was Outdated and she
hadn’t been able to reach us. After we made the correction when I got to the car
I told Kathy what happened. It wasn’t until we were on our way to our next stop
we realized that Wendy who moved to the new location had called us a few times since
we’ve been
Home this year. So where did she
get the number from?
The next stop was Green Shield for Kathy to drop off her Claim Form for the service she just received this morning from Mary
of Healthy
Heals. We should have the cheque in our mail before next weekend.
The next stop was Princess Auto to pick up some Plastic Wire Loom Covering that is presently On Sale. Our regular readers might recall that there are certain
things that I prefer purchasing in Ontario because it is cheaper well this is one
of those items. Last winter while connecting the Cables to our Solar Panels
to the Junction Box on the roof I ran
out of my supply of Wire Loom Covering
so I needed to find it in Quartzsite. It could only be located in Five Foot Lengths at a cost of Twelve Dollars each. Today I purchase a
Twenty-Five Foot Length of the same
sized Wire Loom for Six Dollars. I’m now stocked up.
We then drove to the nearby
Dollarama where
we were able to find all the things that the Amherstburg location didn’t have
on Wednesday Evening.
Driving to the far side of
the parking lot we stopped it at the Motor City Credit Union where the big transaction of the day was to get more Coins for when I do the Laundry.
Driving across the street
we stopped in Walmart
with the intention of looking for a small Lawn
Ornament but after finding their shelves nearly bare ended up walking out
with only a few grocery items.
We then stopped in at the East End Canadian Tire store to get some Garbage Bags. We always have trouble finding just the right ones to
fit our containers but they have them there. We spent a few more minutes just
walking around looking at a few things before leaving.
It was nearly 3:30 at this
point and most of the local factories had just had shift change. Trying to
avoid some of the tie-ups we took Banwell Road over
to County
Road 42 then to Manning Road.
Within twenty minutes we were heading in the direction of Home at Wildwood Golf and RV Park just past Essex.
Since this was Friday afternoon
and we were starting to get hungry we decided to stop at the Michigan Dinner on Victoria Avenue for
Fish and Chips. When we walked in I saw
a familiar face that I haven’t seen in a few years. After we placed our order I
went to say hello to Don whom I worked with in the Casting Plant in Windsor. He finally retired five years ago.
Hard to believe I’ve been out for eight years. He was there with his wife and
heading to a Classic Car Rally after
they ate. Don regularly reads the Blog and
mentioned reading about the Patio
Extension. Even though we didn’t make it to the Car Rally we are hoping Don and his Wife enjoyed themselves.
We were Home
with all our purchases put away before the 6
o’clock News started. The Weather
Guessers said we could expect a bit of a cool down. Looking at The Weather
Network they showed the actual temperature
being a few degrees warmer then what it will feel like. If this were winter
time wouldn’t that be called a Windchill?
Thanks for following along and
feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
