Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
After posting the Blog last night I spent more time then I
should have reading other Blogs into
the wee hours. For most people that isn’t a big deal but when you have Sleep Apnea it robs you of the quality
of sleep you should get, throws your biological clock off, can bring on days of
Insomnia and takes weeks to months
to totally recover.
That was only what I did to
myself but it also affected Kathy as well. Even though she was in bed ahead of
me she never really gets into a deep sleep until she senses my presence in bed.
The same thing happens if I need to get up in the middle of the night or in the
morning where I have watched her turn over and start patting my side of the bed
to verify my absence.
When we both dragged
ourselves to the breakfast table at 8:00 I realized that in the future I’ll
just have to wait to do my reading in the mornings. We’d also experienced a
brief Thunderstorm during the early
hours and it was still evident by the standing puddles of water on our patio. With
the Sun shining brightly most of
that would disappear around the time we finished our morning Coffee/Tea.
We were still partly
recovering from the high Humidex we
were exposed to yesterday so when the Weather
Guessers indicated that it would be above the Century Mark today we just concentrated on indoor chores. We were
also waiting for a visit from our friend Vera who had visited us a few times at
our old site but never this one.
The appointed time came a
went and she didn’t arrive so we started getting concerned. Kathy called her Cell Phone and with a poor connection but
finally talked to Vera. She had forgotten the paper with our new address at her
home and drove right by our place looking for the truck that was parked by the Clubhouse.
We finally met her in 19th Hole Restaurant parking lot where she was waiting for us.
After some comforting Hugs we got in our car where I drove us
all to the Michigan
Diner in Essex. We’ve eaten at the 19th
Hole Restaurant with Vera before
but she didn’t know about this particular location for the Michigan Diner. It was past 1:00
when we arrived so we were immediately seated and within minutes we were being
served our lunch. The conversation never stopped the entire time but it was
mostly Vera telling us of how she was having a bad day. She insisted it was her
turn to pay so we’ll pick up the bill the next time.
Heading back to the 19th
Hole Restaurant Vera picked up her car and followed us back to our
new site. As she would later say she would have recognized our Avalanche fifth wheel but she had only
seen our present trailer once last fall and forgot what it looked like. She
really complimented us on the site and the changes we have made. Inside we made
certain she was comfortable and had some water. Before we knew it was past 4:00
and she needed to get going.
Once Vera had left we got
our shopping list together and the Gifts that Kathy recently wrapped and headed out
the door ourselves headed for Windsor. Our first stop was at the Dollarama
on Walker
Road where we manage to find only
two of the Solar Lights we were
looking for. Stopping at the Dollarama at the Central Avenue Mall we walked out empty handed. Stopping at the Dollarama
at Rivard
and Tecumseh
we managed to get the rest of the Solar Lights we needed along with the Water Hose Splitter Valve we’ve been looking for a few weeks.
This last stop put us only
a few blocks away from where our granddaughter Ashley lives. Last October our
family celebrated the Canadian Thanksgiving and
Christmas
on the same day because we would be in the Southwest for the later occasion. Our daughter
renamed this occasion Merry Thanksmas. Since Ashley will be in Spain
as an English Teacher this coming
year and will miss our family get-together we wanted to drop off her Gifts
that were imported from the states of Arizona and California before she leaves. Ashley
wasn’t there at the time but her stepfather thanked Kathy and said he’d be
certain she got them.
It was after 4:30 which
meant the streets were filled with people headed home after a long day at the
office which would mean a slow crawl getting Home. We instead drove over to
our all-time favourite Chinese Food
restaurant called Li’s on Tecumseh Road. It only took minutes to make
our selection and the food just started appearing. Having ordered take-out from
Li’s
in the past we knew that we would enjoy a filling meal but would also take Home
more then enough for another meal.
We managed to be Home before
the 6 o’clock News started but we
both had trouble staying awake for the entire broadcast. It wasn’t until after
7:00 that we started having trouble with the Cable and Internet but this
is ridiculous. By 8:00 the sky was black and the Rain sounded like a Drum
on our roof.
We discussed the Confusion, Impatience and Anxiety
that Vera seemed to be experiencing today could have been due to Dehydration. She doesn’t carry any
water when she is out driving and with the high Humidexes we’ve been seeing lately it would be easy to become Dehydrated. With more favourable
temperatures for the weekend we’ll see what we can accomplish. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Words of Inspiration
We are time's subjects and time bids us be gone.

I never drank so much water in my life as I did in Arizona in June. It's amazing how much better you feel if you just keep chugging it down!! Is your weather usually like that? High heat then rain like crazy? I do love the rain, but the heat can take a hike!!
