Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
Like it or not when the
alarm went off at 7:30 this morning we had to give up our happy place between
the sheets and immediately get ready to head out the door. Our destination was
Kathy’s family Doctor’s
Office in Windsor which meant not having
breakfast before we left. Each time Kathy goes to see Dr. Sherman she has Blood Tests to see how her Diabetes is doing. If Kathy has to fast
I won’t eat without her so we both fast, besides it’s not like I can’t wait.
As usual Kathy sees her
doctor first before she gets the script to say what tests the blood will be
used for. Kathy’s Doctor gets upset that Kathy does things that she feels are
too hard for her to do. Kathy’s response is that she is not going to sit around
and waste away. She plans on continuing to push herself as long as she can.
These conversations also
gives Dr. Sherman the chance to pick Kathy’s brain on things to do when she
herself actually takes some time off. Kathy found out that Dr. Sherman actually
visited Sedona
this last February but they rented a car and drove around. They didn’t take any
Jeep Tours or attend any Balloon Festivals as a fact they didn’t
even hike or climb any Mountain Ranges
like we did. The Doctor thanked Kathy for the information, told her to keep
having fun but warned that she had better not try climbing Mount Everest.
It was nearly 10:00 when we
sat down to have our breakfast at A&W. They serve Eggs the way you want, Bacon
or Sausage or Both, the kind of Toast you
like on real Plates with real Silverware at a reasonable price.
Our next stop was Guardian
Storage to pick up our Mail and to get a few things from our Climate Controlled Storage Unit.
We stopped at Princess Auto just to walk around and to get the latest Flyer. Many of the supplies that I have
used over the years for our trailers have come from there. The other day the Indicator Switch for our CPAP Inverter stopped lighting up. Looking
at the Flyer there was the exact
replacement Switch for less then $2.00 where I had paid $6.00 for the same switch in Quartzsite.
The Welding Cable that I ran from
the Charge Controller in the basement to the Junction Box on the roof was
purchased there. The Aluminium Angle
Material that I paid dearly for in the Southwest is half the cost here when every few
months it goes On Sale. Their next Sale starts tomorrow and they will have
twenty-five foot lengths of Plastic Wire
Loom priced at what I paid for a five foot length in Quartzsite. It costs us less
the ten dollars for our purchases today.
We drove back to the Zehrs Super
Store on Walker Road where we picked up a few food stocks, then to Staples
for a couple of supplies before heading for Home.
It was after 1:00 by the
time we had everything put away and even though we weren’t feeling hungry I insisted
we have a bowl of Soup for lunch.
The last time we had fasted like that we just skipped lunch and we both had
pounding headaches by supper time. That bowl of Vegetable Beef Soup was just what we needed.

When we have a day of heavy
exertion like we did on Friday and Sunday we have learned we need a down day
for our bodies to recover. We used the afternoon to get caught up on this
morning’s reading on the Computers that
we missed out on as well as doing some research.
Just before 5:00 we headed
over to the Park
Clubhouse where there was a Hamburger Sale taking place. This is
run by Seasonal Resident Volunteers.
The monies raised cover first the costs of supplies but the profits go to Local Charities. Today the place was
packed with lots of Grandchildren in
attendance. Another change was you could have the ½ Pound Hamburger or a Foot
Long Italian Sausage along with
the Potato Salad and Condiments. A good deal at Five Dollars each, you get to eat and
support a charity at the same time.
As soon as we finished
eating we left without much visiting today because we had another stop to make.
We were on our way to our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh. We were there to help
wish our granddaughter Kylla a Happy
Birthday. After having just gotten off her shift from the Assembly Line at the Chrysler
Minivan Plant she didn’t feel
like having her picture taken. We had an enjoyable visit with everyone there as
well as an unbelievably delicious piece of Tuxedo
Cake.
We managed to get Home just
as the Sun was about to set. We’ll
see what we accomplish tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
