Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
We were both sleeping so
soundly last night that it surprised me when Kathy got out of bed before me
this morning just before 8:00. We had our usual breakfast and Coffee/Tea at the Computers before looking beyond the walls of our Home.
While Kathy busied herself
doing her Bookkeeping and making
entrees on our Spreadsheet I went
outside and watered all of the new additions to our landscape. Even at 10:00 in
the morning the Humidex was already
starting to weigh heavy in the air. Once the plants were all watered my next
idea was to get rid of the piles of Clay
that were the unwanted product of our Home
Improvements. Putting a tarp in the rear of the Truck-Bed I managed to get the pile from the one tarp loaded before
heading inside to cool down.
Since we were planning on
having an afternoon snack today, Kathy thought it was a wise idea to have an
early lunch of Chicken and Rice Soup
along with melted Cheese on Toast. It
all tasted great and wasn’t overfilling.
While we were away last
winter we had the misfortune of having our Tandem
Bicycle damaged to the point it has to be replaced. Because it was designed
to fold that caused the weak-point in the frame that lead to its failure. Going
Online we were able to find and
order a New Non-Folding Tandem Bicycle
at a reasonable price on Amazon.ca. back on 15th of June. I have mentioned
before that their delivery date kept getting pushed further and further back
from July to August then September
now Late October. Today I made a
second call about the same issue and when I explained the problem to Jean she
made a suggestion. With her assistance we canceled our order then reordered
another Tandem Bicycle of the same Design, a Different Colour, Costs
$22.09 More but will be here on Wednesday.
Now that is what you call Customer
Service.
It was nearly 1:00 when we
drove over to the Clubhouse because Kathy would not have
survived the walk in this Humid Weather.
The first thing we did was to buy Tickets
to an upcoming Christmas in July dinner that will be catered by the 19th Hole Restaurant at an unbeatable price. We then bought our
tickets to today’s Ice Cream Social
that is used to raise monies for local charities and since the Park is
full for this Hot Canada Day Long Weekend before long there was a lineup out
the door. After we’d finished our tasty treat Kathy went next door into the Book Exchange
Library to find some books that
she hasn’t read. I went out to the car and brought in the books she planned on
exchanging.
When the warm weather
bothers your ability to breathe properly you become dependent of being inside
in an Air-Conditioned Atmosphere
which after a while starts giving you a bad case of Cabin-Fever. Kathy just wanted a little ride around the Park so
we started down Wildwood
Drive. When we saw our old neighbour Larry we stopped to talk for a
few minutes. Since it was his and Nichol’s old site we moved to he said he was
Impressed with the changes we had made. He also cautioned us about some Hearsay that he had heard about one of
our other neighbours. After a quick stop at the Park Office to find out where I’ll be dumping the Clay we headed back Home.
Kathy felt like she was
melting outside so while she was inside and starting to read another book I went
over to check how our old neighbour Ted was doing he recently lost his wife
Eileen. We visited for nearly a half hour and he seems to be in good spirits.
With the promise that he’ll walk the extra few feet for a visit with us I headed
back Home.
After briefly talking with
Kathy I went back outside to remove the second pile of Clay we had piled behind the trailer. Since it was piled at the
rear road side of the trailer I first had to shovel it over to a waiting tarp then
load it in the truck with the rest of the Clay.
That really is starting to look much better.
It was after 5:00 by the
time I went inside and Kathy was already making supper. She thought open-faced Man-Wiches would hit the spot and they
did.
It wasn’t until after we
were watching the 6 o’clock News that I remembered I hadn’t dumped our waste
tanks yet. Even though I still Back-Flush
the Black Tank using the Waste Grey Water this also gave me the
chance to try the Quick Flush Connection
that I installed the other day. As soon as I energized it I had to turn it off
to add another Washer on the hose as
well as an Angled Fitting because
the straight connection was bending the hose and restricting the water flow. The
second time I activated the Quick Flush Connection
everything worked great meaning that it is a Work-Saver.
The "Y" connection ahead of the Water Filters feeds the Black Tank Flush by simply turning the valve.
Even though we are not
making great strides at getting things all done we are getting things completed
as Time and the Weather permits us to do so. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
