Pedal Power Around The Park and Cleaning Things Up.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

It felt so wonderful to be able to turn the Air Conditioner off yesterday and to sleep with the windows open last night. Normally we toss and turn as well as waking throughout the nights but not last night. When we went to bed after the 11 0’clock News we both slept soundly until the Sunlight started seeping past our Window Shades.

After going through our regular morning routine of Breakfast, Reading and Inside Chores I really wasn’t sure what I planned to do so I headed outside to start my weekly Dumping of the Waste Tanks. I have mentioned before that for over a year instead of just emptying the Black Tanks followed by the Grey to flush the Drain-Hose I use a Twist-On Gate Valve to fill the Black Tanks with Waste Grey Water to clean out what remains in the bottom of the Black Tank. This process is repeated numerous times and it is amazing how much more Waste comes from the Black Tank without using Fresh Water
Open faced Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Minestrone Soup.
With more time to use before lunch I turned my attention back to our new Tandem Bicycle. After making many more adjustments the Brakes were finally looking like they would properly Work I then added our Carrier. By that time Kathy had made some Open Faced Grilled Cheese Sandwiches as well as Minestrone Soup for lunch.
Our Old Folding Tandem Bicycle (original seats).
Pedals worked independently.
The frame was destroyed.
While Kathy washed the dishes the next thing I did was to Road-Test the bike checking what other adjustments needed to be made such as raising my seat to a much more comfortable height. On that Test-Ride some of our old neighbours were shouting that I had lost my passenger. Kathy finally came out but we found out the new Bottle Holders would not hold a standard water bottle so with more adjustments they were made to hold Gator-aide Bottles quite nicely.
Our New Tandem Bicycle with our old Comfort Seats,
Folding Pedals, Mirror, Bell and Carrier.
Fenders and lights to be added.
This Bike does not fold and the pedals work in unison.
Finally, the moment that we were both waiting for, our first ride around the Park this season. We made our way around the east side of the Park and Kathy found she seemed to be sliding forward on her seat. We didn’t ride the entire Park because my Glutes were starting to get a comfortable burn which meant the ride was doing us good but if we overdid it we would end up suffering for it.

Back Home I made the adjustment to Kathy’s seat but we never had the chance to try it. Kathy needed to take an Antihistamine as her Allergies really started bothering her. While she rested I finished stripping as many of the usable components that we had added to our old Bike to possibly use on this one. A few repairs will be made to the Fenders but they will be usable.

After I cleaned up we went to the McDonalds in Essex where we enjoyed a Sweet Chili Wrap Meal for supper and a Chocolate Sundae for dessert.

Back Home after the Weather Guessers on the 6 o’clock News forecasted a day filled with rain for tomorrow I went back outside to tie a tarp over our Tandem Bike. With a 97 F (36 C) Humidex also forecasted it looks like we’ll be turning the A.C. back on again. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

I just got lost in thought.

It was unfamiliar territory.
