Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
After over exerting ourselves
in the heat yesterday there was never any doubt that we’d sleep like a couple
of rocks. The problem was that these two rocks had a hard time waking up this
morning. After opening the Window Shades
only to see the cloud filled sky and a few Water
Puddles on the Patio and Tonneau Cover we weren’t in too much of
a hurry to get back to working on the Patio.
As soon as breakfast was
over the first thing I did on the Computer
was to check The Weather Network for
our area. They basically showed Chances
of Thunderstorms for the entire day. Another peek out the window really
reinforced their forecast so we made certain we finished all our reading before
moving on to other inside chores.
I was in the process of
making data entries when Kathy called me to our late lunch. After having had a
lite breakfast, being cooped up inside and that we would be eating supper later
then normal Kathy chose to make this a filling lunch. She made some Chicken Noodle Soup, a Ham Sandwich that we shared with Chips and Yogurt covered Blackberries.
Returning to the Computers Kathy reminded me that our
old Bicycle Cover we had on our Tandem Bicycle had gotten badly torn so
we both started trying to find a replacement on-line. Because our damaged Tandem Bicycle folded for easy
transportation we were able to use a regular bike cover on it. Trying to find a
cover for a Tandem Bike that does
not fold was a nightmare and the one I did find cost nearly as much as the Bike. Kathy found a site that suggested
using a Motorcycle Cover instead so
after measuring our Tandem Bicycle
for its length we were able order one for only $35.00 and it will be delivered
here next Friday.
Around 4:00 the sky really
opened up and made certain that all our plants were well watered. The Rain lasted until after 5:00 when we
finally started getting some Sunlight breaking
through the clouds.
Not sure if the Rain would return we chose to take the
car over to Park
Clubhouse. With the afternoon Humidex
sitting at 100 F (38 C) the moment Kathy stepped outside
she had a hard time to breath. We were lucky to be able to park close and the Air Conditioning was keeping the hall
cool.
Today’s festivity was “Christmas in July” as many RV
Parks have these special celebrations at this time of year and decorate for
the occasion. We were joined at our table by Jamie and Islay along with John
and Eileen. When they asked where we went for the winter and we told them about
being “Off the Grid” in the deserts
of the Southwest
they started asking a lot more questions about the entire system trying to
understand that we were getting our power from the Sun.
After everyone was welcomed
Table Numbers were called until
everyone had been served their meals. The traditional Turkey, Dressing, Corn, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Cranberries, Dinner Rolls and Salad
was served. After everyone was served seconds were offered but knowing there
was Cake being served as dessert we passed. We didn’t eat until after 6:30
which is late for us so when we got our meals we totally forgot to take any
pictures of the food.
Entertainment was put on by
local artist Kid Rick. With the use
of Computers these days one person
playing a guitar can sound like an entire band but you still need a good voice
for singing and Rick did. The dance floor was filled for his first set. Just as
we were getting ready to leave on his last set he started playing “Amazed” which was our Wedding Song. It was like we stepped
back in time.
The weather will dictate as
to what we’ll be doing tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
