Last night was a throw-back in the sleep department. After only an Hour in my Recliner, I was ready to go to bed, but after another Hour in Bed, I had to retreat back to my Recliner. The Pain in my Right Shoulder was unbearable. Not being able to twist in my chair kept the pressure evenly spread across my back, allowing the Pain to subside to a low ache.
Getting up only minutes apart, we settled for Yogurt Cups and a Bran Muffin for breakfast.
There was plenty of reading to do On-Line, before settling for Hotdog Wraps for lunch with an Ice Cream Sandwich for dessert.
We barely finished eating when I started cleaning up things in the Fridge. We hate having things spoil, because it is like we are throwing our money away. Kathy had earlier discounted the fact that it would take Two Hours just to chop all the ingredients that would needed for our meal, but that’s exactly what it took. There was Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Cherry Tomatoes, Minced Garlic, Mushrooms, Onions, Salt, Black Pepper, Zucchini and Extra Thick Bacon.
With a glass of Brisk Iced Tea for refreshments our Bacon/Veggie Wraps were more than filling. By the time the kitchen was cleaned up and I changed clothes we were out the door by 6:00 and the temperature had been steady at 63 F (17 C) the entire day, but with the 35 MPH Wind Gusts it felt way cooler.
Travelling into the heart of the City we were surprised to find streets we often travelled in the past, that had been permanently Blocked around the core. We walked in to the Hotel Dieu Lobby with Ten Minutes to spare for my 6:45 appointment, but there was nobody there to process patients for their tests. There were other’s sitting in the Waiting Room before we arrived, one with a 6:00 appointment. At 7:00 the Receptionist got us all registered so we knew that our time had not been wasted. While everyone was still waiting, I was called first to have CT Scans done to my Sinus and Lungs. It was hard enough to lay down on that Table, but for getting up, I needed help because there was nothing to grab to pull upon. I was given The Look as we were leaving because the others were still waiting for their Ultra Sounds.
Having seen a few buildings that had been remodelled from the parking lot, we swung up Pelissier Street to check things out. Buildings had been updated but a few were completely gone. What we saw did not impress us because what we remembered from long ago was gone. That can only mean, we haven’t been around much lately.
Heading across the City on Riverside Drive, we were home in Fifteen Minutes.
Our entertainment for the night was “Forensic Factor” and a couple episodes of “Fear Thy Neighbour”.
With the weather going downhill tomorrow, we’re not sure what we’ll be doing.
