Clean Bill, Run For The Border, New Throne, Unexpected Second Time and “Miss Congeniality”.

Before going to bed last night I again shut the Air Conditioner so we wouldn’t freeze overnight. As tired as I was yesterday it was only minutes after 11:00 when I lay down to sleep. When I woke to roll over at 5:00 I was certain sleep would be the last thing I’d do. I was surprised when the Clock showed it was past 8:00. I felt totally rested.

Looking at the Clouds we were certain Rain would be coming down any minute but it surprisingly it held off. We enjoyed our Rhubarb Sauce on Toast breakfast before heading over to the Computers. At least Kathy and my Coffee did because I started my morning chores by making up the Bed before gulping back my then Luke Warm Drink.

I can’t shower at night because it invigorates me and keeps me awake through the night. If I need to wake up in the morning having a shower is the perfect way. After showering I barely had the chance to check The Weather Network before heading out the door. Changing her mind Kathy decided that she would come along for the ride to help get rid of the feeling of Cabin Fever which seems to be affecting lots of people in different ways.

Knowing it was going to warm up later we turned the AC on before leaving the Apartment.
The sky was clearing by the time we left.
After lowering all the Car Windows Kathy sat reading while I went in for my appointment. Things must be getting back to normal as the Specialist was running Thirty Minutes behind on his appointments by the time I got called in. It is truly a different world when you are both wearing Masks in an effort to avoid spreading or contracting any germs. He reviewed the results of my Endoscopic Test reminding me of the Polyps that were removed and that they were tested with Negative Results. Since I am in the Most Extreme Risk Category he will again be seeing me in another Five Years.
Windsor is known as the Motor City for a reason.
Taken through the windshield,
Getting back to the Car at 1:00 we headed over to the nearby Taco Bell for lunch. We actually had the chance to use a Coupon that we had planned to use last week but the line-up was insane. It has been over Five Months since we’ve had Tacos but this coupon also included Fries which we have avoided for obvious reasons. It costs less for this package then if we had gotten only the Tacos with small drinks. We found a shady spot in the parking lot to enjoy our lunch while watching a steady line of customers going through the Drive-Thru.
Nice Day but Hot.
We were barely in the Apartment Five Minutes when Joel called asking if he could come up to replace our Toilette in Ten Minutes. Like Yes! Knowing our over the toilette Cabinet would be in the way we emptied its contents on our Bed then I unfastened the Cabinet and stood it in the bedroom as well.
Being retired after Sixty Years.
It took less then Thirty Minutes for Joel to replace the Original Toilette to this apartment that I have been having to plunge practically every time we used it for the last Eight Months. Even while he was doing our job his Phone kept going off with other tenants needing assistance. He always Seals the bases of the Toilettes with a Silicon Sealer so if we wash the floor it doesn’t cause problems below us but he had forgotten his Caulking Gun. He promise to return later to finish the job.
Modifying Salads like this, makes them a meal.
We were thankful for the New Toilette and as soon as he left we reinstalled our Cabinet before starting to make supper. I again modified a Ranch Salad adding Chopped Celery, Ham, Onions, Peppers and Shredded Cheddar Cheese. Kathy served the leftover Lemon Meringue Pie with Dream Whip for dessert.

We were in the middle of eating and watching the 6 o’clock Local News when Joel returned to finish sealing the Toilette. Five Minutes later he was off to another apartment.
The new braided water line on the right
Still watching the News while finishing our Tea there was another knock at the door. It was Joel. Our neighbour directly below us was getting Water dripping near his door and since we all have our own Hot Water Heater our’s must be leaking. Opening the door there was a fine mist spraying from the Cold Water line. Luckily these Heaters were connected with Steal Braided Flex Lines so it was a quick fix.

Finally checking my Computer I read the Comments to our Blog. Most of our readers but one think our Air Conditioner is working fine but it’s not. It is not only cooling our Apartment but it is making it downright Cold. When we shut it the Compressor continues to work so I have to unplug the Unit so as to not damage the Compressor. Al will be repairing it but as long as it is cooling us he is dealing with units that have stopped working altogether for other people.

We watched the movie “Miss Congeniality” Starring Sandra Bullock. It’s been ages since we first saw it and it sill makes us laugh.

We have more things to do tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Congratulations on the negative Endoscopic Test and not having to see your doctor for another five years.

The toilet looks pretty good for being 60 years old. Glad your new one was installed...too bad about the water leak on the water heater...at least they caught it early.

Thank you for answering my question, I knew the A/C was not fixed yet.

  3. Well at least it's not just me .... having things break down right and left. Lucky you have a maintenance man to repair everything, although I know you could do it yourself!! Hope your AC gets fixed soon so you don't keep having to turn it on and off.

  4. Yesterday must have been International Change Your Toilet Day. At least the 4 of us celebrated. We decided we needed an OLD PEOPLE toilet. Meaning a taller one. Luckily we went to Lowes last week when we did. We saw the model I wanted made by Kohler. It was in a color they call Biscuit. Our walk-in tub we had installed two months ago is a Kohler in the Biscuit color. We ordered the toilet.

When we got home the manager called. This color was being discontinued and they had none left in stock. Come back and pick a different one. When we went back she called another Lowes. They had ONE left in stock!

So now we have matching toilet and tub. And the sink and counter they installed last year is real close.

So...... a belated happy International Change your Toilet Day to you and Kathy.
