“Not Me”, Dust In The Wind, Filling Up, Vendors Thinning Out and A Little Rain.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

With cooler night time temperatures, we both snuggled in under our warm Bedcovers last night but that didn’t last. Around 3:00 I started feeling cold and when I tried to pull the covers up to my neck I couldn’t find them. Using the LED Flashlight that was on my Nightstand I discovered that most of the Covers were keeping the Floor warm on Kathy’s side of the Bed. With a slow but steady pressure they were slowly pulled back to the position they should have been only meeting a slight resistance. Once in position I tucked them under my arm just in time to feel their attempted retreat back to the Floor. Keeping my body weigh in place we both managed to sleep until just before 8:00 MST this morning.
Couldn't see the Sun but it was reflecting off the distant mountains.
When questioned about the incident at breakfast all Kathy could say was “Not Me”. He’s been following us around a lot this winter. Then again, we saw a commercial the other night that showed the Monster under the Bed but then again with things we have stored under there it had to be “Not Me”.
There are some specks of blue.
After opening all the Window Shades, we searched the sky for the Sun. There was a glow through the heavy Clouds that showed its approximate location. There were a few specks of Blue Sky also found. These Clouds were producing lots of Dust from the 26 MPH Gusts. This was the perfect time to have a Two Cup morning while we got caught up on our reading at the Computers.
Just before lunch the sky is trying to clear.
When it came time for lunch Kathy decided she wanted something that she hadn’t had for a while. As I finished my inside chores upstairs she made our Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches to go with the Mixed Berry covered Yogurt. It was lite enough not to fill us up but to fill our energy needs.

By 12:30 I had loaded all our empty Drinking Water Containers in the Truck and we were off. First stop was the Trash Bins to drop off our contributions. It was strange to see that the Roll-Off Bin had finally been emptied.

Our next stop was the Family Dollar in Quartzsite where I use their Reverse Osmosis Dispensing Machine to fill our Containers. Kathy went inside to get away from the Gusting Wind but didn’t stay long as she said the aisles were filled with stock that needed to be put on the shelves. Since I had all our Containers by the Machine she guided the cart back to the Truck while I carried two of our Six Gallon Containers by hand.

Up the road we stopped at the Roadrunner Grocery Store where we got a few supplies. Kathy likes getting Bread there because it’s baked Inhouse and stays fresh longer.

Driving through the alley we went around to Quiet Times Greeting Card Shop where we had a package waiting for us. They pointed out a mistake on the Address but because it was delivered by UPS and not the Post Office it was delivered.
More Blue Sky.
Heading up Arizona 95 we stopped at RV Pitstop to fill our Empty Propane Tank. With the warm weather we had been getting there was no hurry to get it filled but now that we are expecting cool to cold temperatures we would rather play it safe.
Clouds are back.
Knowing that we wouldn’t be Grilling anything outside today because of the High Winds we planned to eat in town but it was only 2:00 which was way too early for supper. We stopped at the Vendors Area on Tyson Wells Road and managed to get a roadside parking spot. There were less Vendors today then there were last week and those that were still there only half were open because of the Dust in the air. Today we left empty handed.
Taken from across I-10.
Figuring that we would beat the crowds we drove over to Families Times Three Family Restaurant around 3:30. Wanting something that would fill us up but not weigh us down we both ordered a Ruben Sandwich. It did the trick.
Rhuben Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries.

It was around 5:00 by the time we got everything inside the trailer. The first thing I did was to check the mailing address at Amazon. Because we don’t have a Permanent US Address whenever we give a new Delivery Address it has to be done by an Amazon Representative. Somehow after the last Address Change was made an extra number appeared in the Address. Not wanting to be on the phone for hours this evening I successfully edited the address. I’ll double check that it is correct if we make any more purchases. After fixing that mistake we settled in to watch the Movie we purchased through Amazon.

Anyone who travels in the Southwest knows that with the Dry Air and lack of Rain there is always a concern for Fire. On June 30th 2013 the unspeakable happened when the Granite Mountain Hotshot Fire Crew lost 19 of its members when fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire. We weren’t up to taking the hike up Yarnell Hill in November and missed the movie “Only the Brave” when it was in the Theaters. This movie is an accurate record of the lives of these dedicated people and we both give it Two Thumbs Up. It truly gives you a different respect for people in that line of work.

While we watched the Movie around 7:00 the forecasted Rain finally arrived but only last about Fifteen Minutes. There are more Showers forcasted in the coming days.
Sun Reflection.
It’s been nearly a month since we’ve run our Honda Generator and since there wasn’t enough Sun to fully charge our Batteries today, after watching the Movie we ran it for an Hour. That not only charged our Batteries but powered the Water Heater so we could both enjoy hot showers.
Be nicer if the Sun would shine on us
Tomorrow we’ll be heading off to Parker so we’ll let you know how that goes. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. Hopefully the rain will settle the dust a little for you. I keep smelling the rain, but haven't seen any yet. When the bed monster steals MY covers, my puppies keep me warm! LOL

  3. Every once in awhile i'll crave peanut better and jelly..yours looked delicious along with the yogurt! Great pictures! My friend was just telling us about the movie, said she cried all the way through it, her hubby is a firefighter. She said it was excellent though..sounds like a good day even with the weather.

  4. All night, every night, I struggle with my covers...on, off, on, off...Marcia has her own set of covers despite being in the same bed, so it does not disturb her...I have always been this way.

  5. Always love how the sun reflects on the mountains in the east as it sets in the west.
Hopefully, some rain will come down and help with the dust.
Hope you had a nice day in Parker.
