Cleaning Up On Super Bowl Sunday.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

I was up getting things ready for breakfast by 8:00 MST this morning and had barely gotten my Computer turned on when Kathy joined me downstairs. She says that each night she takes the Mucinex-D she is noticing an improvement in her Congestion Issues.

Once we had finished Breakfast we settled in at the Computers enjoying our hot Coffee/Tea. While reading my E-mails I was pleasantly surprised to get a message from Daryl asking for clarification on something in our Blog. With the reply I also managed to send a demonstration of what I was referring to. The last time Kathy and I saw Daryl was last February here in La Posa South. Later this afternoon I would also learn that they have a Heavier Duty Truck with a Larger Trailer then they had last year. Daryl has also been laxed in the Blogging Department so we’ll keep our Fingers Crossed about seeing an update coming soon.

With all the Dust in the air from people not using Common Sense and speeding by today was not only Laundry Day but it also meant changing the Bedding. While I changed the Bedding, Kathy made up Baked Beans on Toast for our lunch. Then while she cleaned the Dishes I was busy sorting the Laundry and getting things loaded in the truck.

The Weather Network was forecasting a high temperature of 79 F (26 C) today. We’ve explained how much hotter being in the Arizona Sun makes you feel like you are being cooked. When I started the Truck to head out the Outside Temperature gauge read 29 C (86 F).
Home straight ahead.
Kathy had suggested we head straight to Blythe but considering there are now less people around Quartzsite and that this was Super Bowl Sunday we checked out the Mainstreet Laundromat. Other people were there doing their laundry but it wasn’t packed so I had all our Washers going in no time at all. As we were taking things out of the Dryers to fold we started noticing very few people inside. Because this was Super Bowl Sunday they were closing at 4:00 and had already shut down the Washers for the day. We pulled out of their gate by 3:50.

We had planned on eating out and thought that we’d try someplace we had never been to before. We arrived at the Mountain Quail CafĂ© just before 4:00 and we were not only feeling hungry but thirsty from the warm temperatures. Compared to the last couple of times we had driven by there were only a few vehicles in the Parking Lot. Kathy said we were beating the rush. We both ordered a Ruben Sandwich and Unsweetened Ice Tea. The Air Conditioning made it feel a lot cooler then the Laundromat. Within Five-Minutes our Sandwiches were being served and they were Deliciously Hot. By the time we left the place was packed and so was the Parking Lot. We’ll definitely be going back there.

Even though we had left the Windows open with the Shades down the first thing we did when we got Home was to open the Door, all the Shades and run the Exhaust Fans to take the heat out. Once all the Laundry was unpacked we needed to cool down before we could put it away.

We watched the 6 o’clock News and now know that we might get a few cooler days in another week so we plan on getting some visiting and exploring done in the next few days. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. It looks like your neighbor is parked close to you. At least its not as close as in an RV Park.

  2. Sounds like a busy day but you got things accomplished. It does get warm here in the afternoons! Good recommendation of the Mtn. Quail Cafe, maybe next year as we'll be leaving here today. Nice meeting up with you and Kathy!

  3. Another nice day in the desert. I'm loving the weather ... cool at night, warm during the day. Not quite as warm here since I'm at 3200 feet. Glad Kathy is feeling better.

  4. Glad Kathy continues to feel better. It was definitely warm yesterday. I cheated and ran the AC while inside watching the Superbowl.

    Safe travels.

  5. Reading this about laundry reminded me I need to start filling my tubes with quarters. I have plenty in my trailer cash bank but hate to use them. It was a hot one today and by time I finished deep cleaning my bedroom and master bath I was sweating. That shower sure felt wonderful
