Continuing Progress Towards Fulltiming.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Fresh air and exercise are definitely the key to having a restful nights’ sleep. The packing and moving of things we have been sorting and hauling what we plan to keep has truly been wearing the both of us out. We’ve been experiencing aches in muscles that we haven’t used in some time. As for the fresh air there is plenty of that through the winter season but what has been surprising has been the above average temperatures for this time of year though we are not complaining. The last couple of nights have seen us going to bed early and sleeping later than normal in the morning.

This morning we slept until 9:00 and struggled to see clearly to make breakfast. There was no doubt that we would take our coffees to our office to finish while we sat for a short time reading at the computers. We had plans to continue with the sorting and purging from our in-apartment storage room. By the time we stopped for a late lunch the room was more than half empty and Kathy had been busying herself sorting through the small storage drawers over half of which had sat untouched since we moved here. She was ruthless in her purging not worried of the memories that went along with the STUFF only keeping what she knew we will use in the future.

When I went downstairs to retrieve a shopping cart to use for hauling more things to the truck I was awestruck to see they were all gone. Back to the apartment I had to meticulously load our utility cart to again start loading the truck. By the time we were on our way to Guardian Storage we had another full load of things to store in our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. Again after carrying everything inside I was reassembling another plastic shelving unit that only hours before had stood in our apartment storage room. The good thing to what we are storing is not an accumulation of STUFF but only things that we know we’ll be using soon or when the time comes for us to come off the road.

On the way home we stopped at Walmart where we picked up additional clear storage bins as well as a few food stocks we were running low on. Our next stop was at Home Hardware where we attempted to have an extra key made for our storage locker but they didn’t have a blank to match our key.

While unpacking our groceries the phone rang and it was a gentleman that was interested in the latest of things we were selling on Kijiji. He asked for directions and arrived slightly early. As soon as he saw that it worked he had no problem paying our asking price.

We didn’t hear if the apartment has been rented yet but that won’t matter as we continue getting ready for our Fulltiming Adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Hey folks! Sounds like you are on the right track! April 30 is not far away. We should find out this week if our house sale goes through and if it does, we will be full-timers on April 20th!! Unbelievable and exciting!

  2. Its good that you are in an apartment and not a house you own. This way you can leave when you want to and leave it to someone else to worry about occupying it.

  3. Oh boy, Kathy is much better than I was at purging. Paul said it took me forgiver to go through stuff. Every time I would pick up something, I would start remembering things about it. He said I cried over such little things. Oh well, I did finally get through purging.

    Awesome photos today.
