Another Donation And A Fried Motherboard.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Try as I might to sleep later it was only 7:00 this morning when I got up to start my day. Kathy was well rested as well and as soon as she sensed my absence she came into the dining room to join me. She got up so soon that I didn’t even have breakfast ready yet.  After eating we finished our coffees at the computers before getting ready for other things and including an early lunch.

Kathy needed to do some walking and some shopping so I dropped her off at Walmart before I drove over to the Canadian Blood Services building on Grand Marias. Was it a shock to walk in and find the blood donor room in a state of remodeling chaos. The normal desk was gone and temporary tables holding the computers were set in its place. It was nice to see it busy as more than just me were there for a regular Blood Donation. This would be my 99th donation and it went as smooth as all the others. However while having the normal after donation OJ and cookies I was speaking to another donor named Don. Within ten minutes I found out he knew my uncle, was working with my cousin, his parents have a park model at the park we’ll be at for this summer and there is a possibility that he could be related to Kathy. Man it’s a small world! I met Kathy at the instore McDonald’s where she just sat down to have a soft drink. When I told about talking to Don she started racking her brain trying to think whose son he could have been.

Leaving Walmart we drove across the street to Dollar Rama where we searched unsuccessfully for other supplies to use for the things we’ll be storing. Driving to the far side of the parking lot to the Dollar Tree we hit paydirt finding everything we needed.
After unloading everything in the apartment and getting caught up on our computer reading we were both tired enough to have to take a Snap. I guess we really needed it because we didn’t wake until the phone woke us an hour later. It was Dillon at SX Video with the news that somehow the Motherboard on Kathy’s laptop was fried. This really shocked us since that was the newest computer in our household. Unfortunately he didn’t have any laptops on hand or on order that would come close to it so he suggested looking around.

I suggested to Kathy that we go to Best Buy and looking there. As we approach their location we spotted Boston Pizza and since we were hungry we stopped in for supper. Kathy had brought a giftcard she had so that saved us some cash. We ordered our favorite the Tuscan Pizza on whole wheat thin crust and it came out delicious as ever. We can get pizza anywhere but when we want something special that’s the one we order.

We checked out the laptops that Best Buy had and there were some that came close. Then we checked out Staples and found a better Lenovo with quad-core, blue tooth and double the hard-drive costing far less than the ones at Best Buy. Kathy liked the feel of the floor model so we knew we’d found her new machine. Even the setup service and extended warranty were cheaper plus it can be serviced under warranty at any Staples in Canada.

Not the outcome we had hoped for but at least we know that Kathy will have a laptop that she can depend on. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
