Fighting With Gremlins.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We are definitely getting back to normal in other aspects of our life. On Sunday night I slept soundly while Kathy was awake. Monday night Kathy slept soundly while I was awake. Last night was a repeat of Sunday night. Tonight I’m going to try and break the cycle.

We finished breakfast shortly after 9:30 so after doing a quick read on my computer I didn’t waste too much time getting outside shortly after 10:00. I was outside all of two minutes when I went back in to change to warmer clothes other than my shorts and sandals. The temp was only 61 F (16 C) but with that north wind blowing in it made it feel much colder and this is July where it is normally much warmer.

After removing the right mudflap and testing it directly to the battery all the lamps were working. Maybe it was the @#$% name I called it that made it suddenly work properly. I finished reinstalling that same mudflap and rechecking it before I removed the mudflap on the left. Testing it to the battery showed a problem with the ground so a quick repair and I had two of the three lights working.

That’s when Kathy called me for lunch. Luckily she’d made soup and a hot cheese sandwich to help take the chill out of me. Feeling comfortably fed I returned to my job and was quite happy when everything was all back together and worked properly. After cleaning up the tools I made a return trip to the truck to do more measuring for another of my chores.

Shortly after 4:00 I warmed up the Weber Q before taking a pizza from the freezer. After Kathy added a bit to the fixings I put it on the grill and turned the heat down to low. The wind was still blowing from the north so even though the trees were getting a good shaking the breeze wasn’t affecting the Weber. Twenty minutes later we had a perfectly done pizza with no burnt crust and everything nice and hot. It was delicious.

This being Wednesday evening we headed out to Amherstburg to have our weekly visit with our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa. The roads were busy but it seemed that all the lights were in our favor. Kevin and I spent some time in the garage where I found the old radio for the truck and returned some bicycle supplies I’d taken last fall. Back in the house we all had a wonderful visit filled with laughter.

As we were about to leave the truck’s lights turned on showing one of the lights on the right mudflap that had never given me any trouble before not working. Not even calling it @#$% made it work. Guess what I have to fix again tomorrow before doing anything else. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
