Hot Weather Visiting and Soccer.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We had another wonderful night’s sleep last night with the windows open and the low temperature only in the lower 60s. Watching the Weather Network while we ate our breakfast they reinforced what we already knew. The comfortable temperatures that we were just getting used to had come to an end.
Our son Kevin (green shirt) trying to keep up with the action.
After getting caught up on our morning reading on the computers and enjoying our lunch we left shortly afterwards to go visit with our daughter Karen. Before walking out the door however we turned on the Air Conditioner as the temperature inside the apartment had already started to skyrocket.
Our grandson Matthew challenging another father for the ball.
When we arrived at Karen’s she was trying to disassemble the boxes that their new gazebo came in to be recycled. If you recall the high winds we had last weekend had destroyed the old one. Greg had finished putting the new one up just before we arrived and was about to make use of their pool to cool down. We sat under the gazebo and visited for nearly two hours before heading towards home.

We drove over to the Metro Grocery Store to pick up some milk and salad for supper. As Kathy was walking by the deli section she noted some readymade Chicken Parmesan. With the suddenly warmer temps she didn’t feel like cooking nor did she want me outside barbecuing. So guess what else got put into our cart.
Matthew blocking the ball from Kevin.
Walking into the cool apartment felt much better than the hot pollen filled air that was outside. It didn’t take long to get the groceries put away and the Chicken Parmesan in the microwave. Eight minutes later and we were enjoying a very tasty meal that surpassed what I’ve eaten in many a restaurant and it was a whole lot cheaper as well.
Kevin teasing Matthew over his shoulder.
After cleaning up the dishes it wasn’t long before we headed over to the Ford Test Track to watch our grandson Matthew’s team play soccer. Tonight was a special game for the team because they were playing against their parents. Due to all the games that had been called off lately due to bad weather this was a rescheduled game. When we arrived Kevin and Matthew were just getting ready on the sidelines.
Kevin and Matthew
Kevin suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis in both his hands and his feet. Even though it slows him down he doesn’t let it stop him. He even got in to a few jaunts and kicked the ball more times than he expected but he felt good just participating. Kevin even got to challenge Matthew for the ball a couple of times. The final score was a lot of fun even though Kevin said he’d be paying for it tonight.
Game Over. Kevin feeling the pain as he leaves the field.
Tomorrow I’ve got some calls to make before I try to get more things crossed off my to-do list. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
