Early To Rise and Getting Things Straight.

Now that I have once again retired and hoping to stay that way, the idea of having to set an Alarm Clock to get up early really bothers me. It also tends to affect the quality of sleep that I get. Doing so while being part of the Workforce, was so natural that I slept like a rock. Not having to worry about waking by a certain time, helps you to relax by taking the pressure away of waiting to be suddenly awaken, other than your own body telling you it’s time.

Last night, it didn’t matter whether I was laid back in my Recliner or stretched out in Bed, I was constantly moving in Pain and staring at the ceiling. The only saving grace was the last time I opened my eyes was within a Minute of the Alarm going off. Luckily, I instantly shut it down to start my day, as well as giving Kathy the extra sleep she would need.

Within Minutes I was heading out the door, not even concerned about having breakfast. I drove across the City using Riverside Drive which is closed daily for Infrastructure Relocation, but being it was before 7:30, it was an uninterrupted drive.

When I arrived at the Howard Avenue Medical Center, there were barely any cars there, but the Parking Monitors were watching to see if you paid their Parking Fee.

Inside the building, I made it all the way to the Fourth Floor without seeing another person. When I tried the Office Door, it was locked, so I stood around for all of Four Minutes before the Specialist himself opened it. Being the first patient to arrive and Thirty Minutes ahead of my appointment I was brought right into the Examination Room. All this to review the Blood Test that I had forgotten to get done before my last appointment. I passed with flying colours and don’t have to return until next year.

Since I didn’t eat before leaving, I stopped at Wendy’s to pick up breakfast for the both of us, to take home.

I’ve mentioned before that when I sleep better, so does Kathy. Since I didn’t do so well last night, she didn’t wake until I walked into the Apartment at 8:30.

After enjoying breakfast a the table, we finished our Coffees at our Computers. I had barely started reading, when I got a call from one of Kathy’s Doctor’s Office. It sounded like a very young person trying to ask why Kathy had not gotten her Blood Test done yet for tomorrow’s appointment. I have a Book and Kathy a full sized Calendar, that we track all our appointments and there was no appointment marked for tomorrow. As she kept talking, I remembered the Doctor telling Kathy to wait for her other Two Month Test and to come back afterwards. There was the appointment for next month but that was a problem, it falls on a Friday and the Doctor only does Telephone Consultations then. Darn, that means we’ll have to stay home and call him, rather than struggling to find parking in the City Center.

We had Hotdog Wraps for lunch around 2:00. Shortly after that, we were again heading out the door. Even though it was bright Sunshine the Northeast Breeze helped make it feel comfortable.

Again heading down Riverside Drive, we only made it to Jefferson, before we were detoured and the road was closed to Construction.

Since I didn’t call it in, we had to wait about Ten Minutes before leaving Health First Pharmacy with the Prescription that has been helping me sleep, was filled. Even though it is not a Sleep Aide, because it is doing what it is supposed to, I am able to sleep better.

We spent time in Dollarama and the Zehr’s grocery store, stocking up on pantry items and emptying our Bank Account.

After Two Trips with our Folding Two Wheeled Shopping Cart before we had everything upstairs. It took over an Hour to get it all put away. We waited until 7:00, before sharing a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Bacon and Mushroom Pizza for a late supper.

We later watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” before watching the “11 o’clock Local News”. We’ve got a couple of nice days heading our way, that we’ll try to take advantage of.

Sleeping and Creating Menus.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I am hoping this roller coaster continues as far as my ability to sleep, after chalking up Eight Hours of sleep Two Nights in a row. I must be getting used to it, because this morning, I didn’t feel the least bit groggy.

Having grown up creating machines made of metal most of my life, it is surprising to me what I am creating for meals. That is something that I never decided on before. The closest was going to a Restaurant and ordering off a Menu. Now I have to create the Menu.

I had thought that most of our Food Stocks had been used up, but there is still plenty I can create with the little bit we have. That sounds like a great way of not wasting our money. Sometimes it could sound like the same ol, same ol, but it keeps our bellies full, (maybe a bit too much) and it keeps us healthy. Though it sounds like we eat a lot of bread, I try to balance it out with Dairy, Fruits and Vegetables.

When I finally looked outside this morning, it appeared we were in for quite a Storm. By the time we had breakfast, everything outside was dripping wet. By late afternoon the Sun finally started clearing the clouds from the sky.

We watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” before watching “The Hulk”. You don’t want to meet him in a dark alley.

With the Alarm already set for the morning, I can only hope that I can still sleep tonight, because it normally works against me. Kathy has decided to stay home since she’ll still be sleeping, while I see my Specialist.

I’ll pick breakfast up on the way home, then we can finally do some grocery shopping.

Better Ride and Bird Bath.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

The roller coaster ride for sleeping continued last night, but I’m not complaining, because it was for the better. I only slept an Hour in the Recliner before moving to the Bed. I recalled waking a few times as I rolled over but managed to sleep close to the Seven Hours I was in bed. The only side effect that I seem to experience from so much sleep, is a morning grogginess. Since the Pain Medication I have been taking before going to bed at night is only 5mg in strength, I am doubtful it is to blame.

I was just getting in the Livingroom this morning when Kathy came out to join me. Since I’ve been cleaning out the Fridge so well, breakfast was simply Cereal but it would be enough to hold us over until lunch.

Looking outside the sky was clear and the asphalt was dry, but looking at the Tonneau Cover on our Truck, it contained a pool of water that the birds were using as a bath. It was not there yesterday.

We enjoyed Tuna Sandwiches for lunch before returning to the Computers.

The sky continued to be Sunny but we started getting Storm Warnings on our Computers. Checking the Radar on “The Weather Network”, showed Storms all around our area, but most of Essex County in the clear.

Again not having been very active today, we settled for Perogies for supper along with a small dish of Sorbet for dessert.

We tried watching a couple of episodes of “Forensic Files” but the kept being pre-empted, by Car Races and Wrestling.

Since we hadn’t used the AC all day and it was starting to get muggy inside, we turned it on just moments ago. At the same time we looked outside to see the asphalt was wet.

We’ll see what we get into tomorrow.
