Not What We Hoped For.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It was another repair the repairs day at work today, but the PTA ran the way it was designed to do, making smooth clean welds. We had another Rebuild in the Sandbox by noon.

I had the chance to talk with Kathy at lunch and asked a favour of her. I needed her to make few phone calls.

The afternoon was spent getting ready for a faster start for tomorrow. It also gave me the chance to explain what a Rotary Stepover was to Sorough. It would have been easier if we actually had a Bearing Surface to work on, rather than using Marker, to draw on the Shank of a smaller Feedscrew.

Getting out of the Plant right after 3:30 felt good and as I got closer to home, I was able to speak with Kathy on my Hands-Free Device. She had made the calls of inquiry and the news was not good. So we changed things around.

I picked Kathy up at the rear entrance to our building before we drove off.

Our first stop was the Pioneer gas station to top off the Truck with Diesel that was Forty Cents per Litre more than Gasoline, or $7.00 a US Gallon.

We then stopped at Guardian Storage to collect our Mail.

Finally we went to Princess Auto. As I’ve mentioned they have different things “On Sale” every Two Weeks. The Truck is in need of Rear Tires for the Winter, and that is what I had Kathy calling around for me. Princess Auto had Tires at Half the Price of everyone else. As soon as I saw them, I knew they would not work. Our Truck takes R245/17 Tires and the ones being sold were R265/17. Because we have Aluminum Wheels, they would not fit. We’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled on other Sales.

It was past 6:00 so we stopped at Taco Bell for a meal outside of the box. We shared a new Chicken Combo that wasn’t too bad.

Our temperatures are continuing to get colder. We wish we were headed for the Southwest. Maybe next year.

Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment, unless it personally attacks someone for their opinion, or is Spam.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Krackers

A school proudly installs a long row of coat pegs on the wall with a sign over the last five: “FOR TEACHERS ONLY!”

The next day somebody adds: “BUT CAN ALSO BE USED FOR COATS.”

  1. We are hoping you leave the cold behind next year and head out to Southwest.

  2. You could probably fly to Vegas on Jan 1st - get a little rental car for 2 months - drive to Quartzsite & stay in an RV/mobile home park rental till March - then reverse the process & go back home. It would likely cost less than driving your big truck & pulling your trailer.? Plus there would be no fears of more expensive breakdowns & other problems. It might not be the lifestyle you exactly want - but where there's a will, there's a way. And the dry desert heat would help your arthritis pains. You just have to adapt & think out of the box - but, of course, nothing like that can happen if you're still working for Mile at the feedscrew place.

  3. Shopping for truck tires can be tiresome for sure. There are so many places here that sell them but to get a good deal is something else, isn't it.
