After finally getting the PTA to start running the way we need it to, it once again proved that it has a mind of its own. Instead of having a clean weld, there were scores of touch-ups. We again had to replace the Orifice as well as, Homing and Restarting the entire system several times, in order to complete the Unit we were working on. There are now Three Feedscrews slow cooling in the Sandbox until Monday morning.
I spoke with Kathy while on my delayed lunch. Even though she managed to get out for some walking, she is still feeling down. She did have a smile when she was asked to help find a Lost Grandmother. The young lady had been looking in the Toys, and suddenly her Grandmother had disappeared.
Monday’s Job has already been mounted in the Plasma Transfer Arc. I allowed Sorough to enter the numbers on the Computer Spreadsheet, while I had to TIG Weld a Centering Hole on a completed Screw that will be shipped to the Customer on Monday.
The shift ended with everyone getting together to take a Group Photo. This was Vic’s last day at Windsor Feedscrew, as he’ll be starting his new job as a Project Manager in Toronto on Monday. That will be a more fitting job, for someone that holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. He and I have become good friends, looking out for one another. He will be missed.
A quick look at the Calendar shows I am only Six Weeks away from my final day as well. Both Kathy and I are looking forward to spending more time together, like when we were Fulltiming.
