Lots Of Small Delays Making For A Long Day.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Why is it that when you really want to get things done early in the day that is the morning you sleep in. We both got up around 8:30 this morning even though we managed to get to bed earlier last night. By the time we ate breakfast, drank our Coffee/Tea at the Computers and checked just the necessities it was after 11:00 by the time we headed out the door. Some of those necessities included looking inside the Fridge to see what we could eat for lunch other then Soup. Finding nothing that could be cooked in Ten Minutes or less we opted to have lunch out.
Our first stop was Harvey’s where we were able to save some cash by using a Coupon. We had their Angus Beef Burgers with Onion Rings and Soft Drinks.

We were within a Thousand Feet of our destination when our Truck decided it was time to begin a Regen. Anyone with a Newer Diesel knows that when the Regen process starts you just have to keep driving or your Diesel Particulate Filter will plug up and you will be stranded by the roadside. Kathy insisted that I run it even though we were not on the Highway the County Roads and non-stop stretches helped the Truck clean its Filter.

We arrived at the Trailer in the Guardian Storage yard just before noon. Since it was so cold I turned the Propane Tanks on before going inside. As soon as we had the One Slide opened and I connected the Blue Flame Heater then Tried and Tried and Tried to get the Pilot to light but nothing. The Cook Stove lit immediately but not the Blue Flame Heater.

We started packing our Clothes from the Cabinet and the Closet but after a while we were so cold it was getting uncomfortable to work. I tried lighting the Blue Flame again with repeated frustration as it failed to light. After covering the Summer Clothes we had on Hangers with Large Plastic Bags I loaded them in the Truck.
We were practically frozen so decided that we needed to warm up. We drove to the new Tim Horton’s not far away. The hot Coffees along with their seasonal Reindeer Donuts did the trick to get the chill out of our bodies and re-energize us.

Going to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit we were able to use the empty space on our Clothing Racks to add the Summer Clothes we had just taken from the Trailer. While we were at it we gathered the last of the Empty Storage Bins from our Storage Unit so we could continue packing.
More Christmas Cactus Flower Pictures.
Back inside the Trailer the Blue Flame Heater still refused to Light. That’s what I get for making certain to drain the Propane Lines when I winterized the Trailer. We did managed to load more Containers of Winter Clothes in the Truck before we just could not take the cold anymore. Maybe by leaving the Propane Tank turned on overnight it will light the next time we are there.

After closing up the Trailer we headed for the Apartment but realized we didn’t have anything to cook there either. When I suggested trying to duplicate the Pizza that we had Thirty Days ago Kathy was game.
We stopped at Domino’s Pizza and while Kathy stayed in the Truck I placed our order. A Crispy Thin Crust with Mushrooms, Onions, Green Olives, Black Olives, Tomatoes, Red Peppers and Bacon. While it was cooking I checked out their menu and found I could have gotten a Vegetarian Pizza with more on it and simply added Bacon to it at a lower price.

Back in the Apartment we enjoyed our second meal of the day and we were not stuffed by a lot of bread. With no Shopping Carts downstairs I hand carried the Storage Bins upstairs via the Elevator.
We took the time to watch the 6 o’clock Local News before heading out again. We went to a nearby No-Frills to get the Groceries on our List. This store did not have Half of what the Amherstburg or Essex locations carried. We then stopped at a Metro grocery store and got a few more items. By this time Kathy was feeling worn out so we headed back to the Apartment. We had brought our Two Wheel Shopping Cart so there was no problem getting everything upstairs.

With everything put away we watched yet another Hallmark Christmas Movie. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. Doesn’t your 5th wheel come with heat/air thermostat so you can use the force air propane to heat your rig? I agree packing in a cold trailer is no fun.

  4. When reconnecting our Blue Flame heater, I usually have to hold down the pilot button for a full minute and sometimes more, before hitting the light button. Also, if you haven't cleaned the slots where the flame burns, can cause problems. By removing the 4 screws that hold all the black metal at the front of the heater. you can get at all those flame slots. Open them up with a old tooth brush or exacto blade. Good luck with getting it going again.

  6. Your cactus is beautiful. I never had a white one. I did have a lovely deep pink one that I kept for many many years and it always bloomed at this time of year.
