Kathy Has A Knee Problem, Trailer Nearly Winterized and Another Long Day.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

As soon as we got back to the Apartment last night while Kathy headed off to take a nice warm shower I got on the phone with our Internet Provider. After a wait of only Fifteen Minutes I got someone at the other end of the line whose accent was so bad I couldn’t understand what he was saying. He finally transferred me to someone that spoke clear English with no mispronunciations. Five Minutes later I had both our Computers running on our own WiFi Connection.

After working ourselves crazy for the last few days something was bound to give and it wasn’t pretty. When Kathy got out of bed this morning she almost landed face down on the floor. She didn’t trip on anything but her Right Knee gave out on her. It’s not the first time but she has noticed a bit of discomfort in it since we began moving but today the Pain rose to a new level.

As soon as we finished eating toast for breakfast I called our Family Doctor’s Office to see if he could see Kathy. Even with a long wait period they said to bring her in.

Thirty Minutes later we were at our Family Doctor’s Office and the place was packed. We knew the drill “Hurry up and Wait” but we knew that Kathy would receive the Quality Care that she needed. Two and a Half Hours later we left with a slip for her to have X-Rays along with a Diagnosis that could require another surgical procedure to fix. Unfortunately for her to receive faster service she was also referred to an Orthopaedic Specialist.

We stopped at Wendy’s where we had a late lunch at 1:30 EST. We ordered off the Value Menu but being so hungry added Cheesy Nachos along with our Chicken Wraps and Seniors Soft Drinks.

We finally arrived at Clear Imaging where we had another Half Hour wait before they took the X-Rays of Kathy’s Knee.

We had planned on Winterizing the Trailer today but there was no way I could subject Kathy to being there with her Knee. After bringing her back to the Apartment I took the Truck to Guardian Storage to work on the Trailer. There are no longer any Freezable Liquids, Food or even Snacks inside. I also collected a number of things that Kathy had given me a list of to bring back with me.

In order to keep our Batteries fully charged I raised our Solar Panels as if we were in the Desert near Quartzsite. I could have easily left them down but if they get covered by that White Stuff they won’t work so well. This will also put them in a better position for collecting the late afternoon Sun.

Not all RV Designers think like RVers do. Two of our Low Point Drains are behind the Axles while the other Three are located behind the Basement Wall. Everything I had to remove from the basement to access those Low Point Drains I loaded in the Truck to bring to the Storage Unit. Since we have to totally empty the Trailer so it can again be repaired at the Jayco Factory in Indiana there was no use just putting it back in.

With everything draining at a snail’s pace even with all the Faucets open I closed up for the night before going to the Storage Unit to drop the Basement Contents off.

It was past 7:00 so before leaving the Storage Yard I called Kathy to see what she wanted for supper. It was nearly 7:30 when we sat down to eat. It was nearly 8:00 when I headed back out to the Truck to bring in another Two Shopping Cart Loads of things up to the apartment.

Sorry there are no Pictures again. All day we looked for the Camera and could not find it. When I was taking my Jacket off this evening something hard banged against my hand. That is the disadvantage of having too many pockets. It makes it easier to lose things. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I have been a little behind on reading and writing blogs lately. I was surprised to find you two will not be heading to the southwest this winter. Hopefully, next year. I took off last winter and it has made me more determined to go this winter.

  2. Hope Kathy's knee issue is not too serious. Pain is pain though so hopefully they can relieve that at least.
I've been looking for a camera battery for two months now. I better check my coat pocket!!

  4. Oh my ... I hope Kathy's knee isn't too bad. All that moving stuff does take it's toll. Lucky for me, I've never had to winterize my rig. I keep it plugged in and the heat on very low.

  6. I am sorry to hear about Kathy's knee but at least you have an excellent health system in Canada that is addressing her issue.

You just reminded me of why I hate moving.
