Last night we attended a Halloween Party put on at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house in Amherstburg. The party itself is held in the garage giving plenty of space for everyone to gather in and the kids can normally play outside. Unfortunately the weather had plans of its own when it started raining around 11:30 in the morning and would continue into the wee hours of this morning.

Last year Kids in the neighbourhood were too scared of the Grim Reaper.
They had lots of candy left over.

Kevin had planned ahead and set up a Portable Gazebo for those that felt the urge to smoke. Since the Kids are now all into their mid to late Teenage Years they were responsible enough to be in the house out of the weather without having to worry of them getting into anything.

We were the first to arrive at 6:00 to find everything was all set up. There was a very tired Witch and Grim Reaper waiting for their guest to arrive. As more arrivals came in the amount of food started to grow. Luckily the night was long which allowed for us to sample everyone’s offerings. People mingled exchanging stories while still more food seemed to be making its way fresh out of the oven. We even stayed until nearly 10:00 but as some were leaving others that had stopped at other parties were making late arrivals.

The Rain never stopped while we drove Home and continued after we were in bed which to us simply lulled us into a deeper sleep. Strangely the temperature rose during the night so by morning we weren’t scurrying to keep warm. That didn’t last long though as the Wind started to pick up with Gusts reaching 37 MPH.
Another Lake in the farmer's field.
We made this a single cup morning in order to get some chores finished since our time here at the Park is quickly wrapping up. The Wind was really rocking the Trailer the entire morning.
I sorted the Laundry before we had lunch of Split Pea With Ham Soup along with a Cupcake for dessert that we brought Home from the Halloween Cake we brought to the Party.
The Food Table kept filling after this picture was taken.

Because I have a higher then normal class of Driver’s License I have to get a Yearly Physical. This year I have to do a Written Test at the Ministry to prove that I know what I’m doing when towing our Fifth Wheel Trailer so while at the Park Laundry Room I started reading my older copy of the Official MTO Truck Handbook. Some of what I was reading has been changed since this book was printed but I should do fine.

The Joker.
When I finally got Home with all our folded Laundry I found that Kathy had been busy Vacuuming and Cleaning inside the Trailer. By the time we had everything put away we were both getting hungry but neither of us felt like cooking.
Since we knew that today was the last day of operation for this season we went to the 19th Hole Restaurant to have supper. There was nobody else there when we walked in at 4:30 so we had plenty of attention from the wait staff. After saying our good byes until next year as we were going to leave more people started arriving for their meals. They’ll open again in mid-April.
When we got Home the Wind had died down but our Patio was heavily covered with Leaves that had been blown from the trees. We’ll be busy once again starting tomorrow so we’ll let you know how that turns out. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  4. Some scary costumes and by the looks of it everyone seemed to have a good time. I'm sure the tasty food had something to do with it too.
