Even though yesterday was one of our less stressful or rushed days this weekend we both seemed to have a hard time getting a restful nights sleep. I waited until 7:30 to get out of bed not so much for the added rest but the added warmth there was to being under the Bed Sheets because it was only 36 F (2 C) outside.
Kathy joined me shortly after 8:00 feeling dragged out after constantly waking throughout the night. We simply had a Muffin with our Two Coffees that we nursed through our time on the Computers. Even as I was catching up on some of my reading Kathy was getting alerts from the Marketplace telling her that some of her searches had suddenly appeared. That caused us to be out the door by 10:00 heading to Amherstburg. We stopped at our son Kevin’s to pick up our Utility Cart before heading towards Windsor.
We’d barely turned the corner when Nature started reminding us both of our morning Coffees so we stopped at McDonald’s to take care of business. We never do that without patronizing a business and since our breakfast had been mostly liquid we decided to have a Bacon/Egg Breakfast Wrap with of course another Coffee as a brunch. It was far from filling but more then satisfied our appetites.
Connor likes his Book.
The transaction went smoothly and we were soon headed back to our son Kevin’s in Amherstburg. We had already gotten permission to store our treasure in his garage.
Haigan likes his changing face shirt.
Haigan Back Home I got caught up on Data Entries on our Expenditure Spreadsheet. Now that I’ve gotten used to doing so it takes me very little time. Kathy was busy searching on the Marketplace even though we already had what we wanted it seems to be turning into an obsession to get what we need to be comfortable.
Emma liked her new purse.
Shortly after 3:30 we loaded the Car and were headed to our daughter-in-law Jen’s house in Essex. Since she works from home even though this was officially the Canadian Thanksgiving she was on duty until 4:30. That gave us a chance to visit with the Haigan and Connor while she worked.
We think Jen liked her gift.
When Emma got back from picking up Pizza we all enjoyed our meal together. As soon as finished eating the boys were anxious to see what was in all the Gift Bags that we had brought in. This was our second Merry Thanksmas Celebration and it didn’t matter whether it was a Book, Clothes or something that they could learn from they appreciated everything. Connor who aged a year on Saturday also had his Birthday Gift in an envelope
Both Emma and Jen had the more mature Gifts but it was the same. They appreciated everything and nearly broke into tears with happiness over some of the Gifts. We were also given a Gift Basket with a few things we appreciate and will treasure like the Two Coffee Mugs with a Southwest Flavour to them.
The boys were downstairs learning about Electricity and how to use it.
While Emma and Jen were opening their Gifts Connor and Haigan had disappeared downstairs. We had given them each a Gift called Snap Circuit which teaches how Electricity works using Batteries as a power source. It showed them everything from simple Lighting, Alarms, Motors as well as some slightly more complicated circuits. They were busy downstairs learning how it worked and coming to show us their accomplishments.
That flame is from Fourteen Candles.
Then it was time to test our singing voices to show Connor that we truly wished him a Happy Birthday. He insisted that Jen put the full Fourteen Candles but the way the Cake was decorated the Candles had to be put so close together. They practically looked like a Flare when lit. At least it didn’t set off the Smoke Alarm. Soon it was time for us to give Hugs and say our Good Nights.
Tomorrow I’ve got to go to Work plus Appointments while Kathy has some Errands so we’ll let you know about it tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
