We
must have been more tired than we thought because for a second
morning in a row we slept past 8:00. Breakfast was our usual with
Coffee/Tea enjoyed at the Computers. After checking
the Blogs we follow we were surprised that a Comment
that Kathy had left was misinterpreted especially since she only
wrote what we both had heard others say in public. We also attempted
to read our E-mails and even though they eventually opened
they were still slow. Looking outside at the beautiful blue sky we
were eventually able to muster ourselves enough to start our chores.
Two RVs remain from the Fifty Fulltiming Families group. |
Today
was laundry day so I started by stripping the Bed then hauling
the Hamper downstairs to start sorting. I’d barely finished
that when Kathy announced that lunch was ready. Trying something
different she made a couple of Chicken/Bacon Cheese Lettuce Wraps
but this time she grilled them in the Frying Pan. She also
made some Chicken Noodle Soup to go with it. It was wonderful!
It completely changes the taste.
After
loading up the Laundry in the Truck and the Trash
in the Box we headed towards the Bins to get rid
of it. There were lots of empty spaces compared to yesterday. The
area next to our neighbour Ken that last week contained Fifty RVs
that called themselves the
Fulltiming Families now only had Two left in the area.
The
Maintenance Workers were at the Waste
Disposal Area and most of the Bins were
empty. They are finally checking to see if you have stickers on your
vehicles before you can dispose of your Trash as well as
emptying your Waste.
We
weren’t surprised when we saw the parking lot at the Main
Street Restaurant/Laundromat
packed with lots of people standing outside. A simple word was
exchanged between us and we were soon heading west up I-10.
Identical Prices. |
Our
destination was the Laundromat in
Blythe. I figured that most
people would be working so we’d have no problem getting Machines
and I was right. Most of the people in Quartzsite
are retirees. By the time we finished folding everything
the place was starting to fill up. When we walked outside the Sky
looked as if we were about to have a storm any minute.
According
to our watches even though we were in California
it was still nearly 4:30 Arizona
time. We headed over to McDonald’s where
Kathy enjoyed a Salad but I chose their Bacon Mushroom
Single Burger and really liked it.
From
there we drove to Smart and Final where
Kathy picked up a few things while I got Two Boxes of Cereal.
When you buy Cereal at Walmart here
in the US the boxes that say
Family Size are a quarter of the Family Size Boxes we
have in Ontario. The Cereal Boxes that Smart
and Final sell are the same size we get back at home for
the same price that Walmart sells
theirs.
Ever
since we had the problems with our Truck we have driven well
out of our way to let the Regen get more run time to clean the
Diesel Particulate Filter. The last time we did that was in
Parker when we went to the movies. Today we had barely
gotten on I-10 to head back to
Quartzsite today when it started. The Truck ran
smoothly but we still had to drive past La
Posa South LTVA before
it was completely finished. There was an hidden benefit though. We
pulled off near the Roadrunner BLM
and were able to get a picture of the Sun as it tried to sneak
from behind the Heavy Clouds so it could set behind the
Mountains.
The Sun slipped behind lighter Clouds. |
Back
at Home
Kathy put away the groceries while I put fresh sheets on the Bed
before we worked together to put away our
Laundry. Tomorrow we hope to
accomplish things around the Trailer.
Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

It's nice to have the place almost to yourself.
ReplyDeleteGot a lot of things done yesterday! Great sunset pictures you got there! Sounds like a lot of rigs have been pulling out the last couple of days.
ReplyDeleteI wondered if those families had pulled out yet.
ReplyDeleteNow you have more privacy and peace. :)
Nice to hear it is quieter in your area.
ReplyDeleteAlways feels good to get home after a day of errands.
Nice to enjoy peace and quiet once again.
ReplyDeleteWe knew Quartzite was emptying out, because they are all now here! Those fuel prices are ouch. So much less in Yuma.
ReplyDeleteSo much quieter now that the Big show is over! But, still, laundry and mail pickup in Blythe is the way to go!
ReplyDeletePretty sun set. Boy those gas prices are high!
