We
hope that everyone had Safe and Happy New
Year Celebration.
Sue, Wayne and Kathy at last-night's Campfire |
After
coming inside from the New Year’s Eve Campfire Kathy and I
had another Hot-Drink in an effort of shaking the Cold
Chill we had gotten while outside. It helped a little but Kathy
headed off to Bed long before I had finished writing the Blog.
Even with our Blue Flame Heater turned up a little the only
way we warmed up the least little bit was to go to Bed.
Turning the Heater down only slightly so we wouldn’t be
shucking the Bedding didn’t help to warm us up through the
night.
Warmer at Home. |
When
we woke this morning we were still Cold. That never used to
happen when we were younger and raising Families. The
temperature that used to only required us to a Jacket now
needs Layering of Clothes in order to survive. Looking
out the Windows we didn’t feel so bad when we saw most
people outside walking in the Bright Sunshine all bundled up.
A little later we saw Wayne outside and he was dressed in Long
Pants, with a Sweatshirt, a Jacket, Hat and
Shoes. For him to be dressed like that it had to be cold.
Knowing
that I would be working on the north
side
of the Trailer where the Cold Wind was coming
from I kept myself busy inside until after Lunch. Kathy toasted a
couple of English Muffins and spread some Cream Cheese on
them to go with our Chicken and Wild Rice Soup for lunch along
with Yogurt for our dessert.
Since
the Truck had blocked some of the Wind for us at the
Campfire last night I worked on it there getting ready for the
afternoon activities. Since the Truck will be going to the
Ford Dealership in Yuma
under warranty of its recent repairs I wanted to empty all our Waste
Tanks and top off our Fresh Water Tank first.
Unfortunately I had yet to set up our Macerator so that had to
be dealt with. It needed a quick lubrication along with setting up a
very Stiff Transfer Hose.
Wayne
brought over a brochure about a Local
Attraction that Sue had told us about at the Campfire
last night. We talked a slight while longer but since the Truck
was now set up on the north side of the Trailer where Winds
that were gusting to 30 MPH I was silently starting to
freeze again.
At
the LTVA Dumping
Station there were Three RVs ahead of me and Three
more showed up behind. That didn’t take long but when i moved
to the Fresh Water Filling Station to fill our Fresh Water Barrel
I was directly open to the Wind.
Our Fresh Water Tank could only take half the Fresh
Water Barrel but since we want to be ready in case the Truck
is gone for a while I’ll add more in the morning and we’ll
probably take Hot Showers to warm up tonight.
I
was again chilled to the bone when I went inside. Kathy cooked a Herb
Noodle Dish along with Corn and Pork Chops for
supper. After washing the dishes we had a Hot Chocolate in an
effort of trying to warm up.
We’ll
keep our fingers crossed it’s a quick fix tomorrow. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s
about time.

I'm begining to wonder where is it that we really are. We had snow last night and it was quite cold all day. So ran to the store early this morning to get ready for possible more of the same.
ReplyDeleteHope things go well with the Truck tomorrow and it is a quick fix.
ReplyDeleteI hope your truck is fixed quickly and under warranty. It is definitely cooler and the wind makes it seem even more so.
ReplyDeleteNoooooo ... the desert is supposed to be WARM!!!!! lol
ReplyDelete34 here this morning in AJ also. Way too cold. Good luck with the truck.
ReplyDeleteWOW 34°, here in Florida we had 80° and people in the pool.
ReplyDeleteHope they find the problem with the truck.
Too bad it is that cold there, always find it almost 10 F warmer here in Yuma, lower elevation.
ReplyDeleteWith these kinds of temps down in the southwest I keep wondering when its going to warm up. Maybe when we get there? Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the truck is a quick fix. Like you we are wishing for warmer weather soon and less wind, much less wind would be nice.
ReplyDeleteHope you warm up soon!
