As soon as I got up this morning I immediately started getting things ready for breakfast and even though I wasn’t trying to make too much noise nor was I being my normal quiet self. That’s right I was deliberately trying to wake Kathy but at least it wasn’t that hated Alarm Clock. We had our breakfast and even took a few minutes to check things On-Line but do you think we could check our E-Mail. It had been Two Days since our Computers would not connect to Google. Once the Big Tent is gone things will definitely improve.
After finishing our Coffee/Tea we set about getting our morning chores completed and I had just finished packing our Computers to bring with us when the Phone rang. It was Curt Lowry from the blog Illinois Camper. He and his wife Glenda were still in the planning stages of going Fulltime when he left a comment on a fairly new blog called It’s about time. Shortly after Curt published their blog as a way of documenting the last of their working days and the sale of their house. We commented back and forth on One Another’s Blogs but never had the chance to meet. Presently spending a few days in La Posa South LTVA Curt was trying to make our first meeting happen today but since we had an 11:00 appointment in Parker we’ll be seeing them tomorrow.
There was one person not going above the Speed Limit.
We were out the door just before 10:00 with plenty of time to reach Parker. The traffic passing through Quartzsite was so lite that we were passing the EMS Station by 10:10. With a steady stream of traffic heading in both directions we were just going with the flow but there are always some people in a hurry. Around Hi Jolly BLM a small aqua coloured Chevy Pickup put the pedal to the metal to get past us. When he pulled back into the lane nearly cleaning the bugs off our bumper he overshot the pavement and threw a Stone that put a nice deep Chip into our New from last year Windshield. Kathy had me back off but we never lost sight of that Pickup until we got to Parker.
Our appointment this morning was to get Haircuts. Kathy insisted I was starting to look like the Shaggy Dog. Turning off Arizona 95 onto 12th Street we soon arrived at the 12th Street Barbershop. Now if you look at the front of the building it says Coni’s Corner which is a Beauty Salon. After experiencing the worst haircuts we had ever had last year we found this Mother/Son Beauty Salon/Barbershop where we both came away looking human once again. Women need to make appointments but the Barber Shop is walk-in only. A gentleman ahead of me from Nebraska had such long hair that when he walked out looking like a Businessman his wife started laughing because their dogs were barking at a stranger trying to get in their car. We already have appointments for March.
We headed over to McDonald’s where we had our lunch. We barely sat down with our orders when the place just filled up. We took our time eating and it seemed to work because a lot of those were getting orders to go. After refilling our drinks I set up our Computers so we could read and respond to our E-Mail. Yes we have a Verizon MiFi at Home that was so slow it would not allow Google to connect to our E-Mail accounts.
We were both busy for about Twenty Minutes getting our correspondences done when a woman approached our table saying we looked like we were taking care of serious business. After telling her why we were there she told us she was at La Posa South LTVA in Quartzsite having the same problem but didn’t think to bring her Computer. We gave her a Contact Card to our Blog and she said she would check it out but because we didn’t write her name down we can’t remember it this evening.

On our way to McDonald’s we had seen a Vendor advertising $30.00 Windshield Repair so after we had eaten we drove over as he was finishing doing the Windshield on an A-Class Motorhome. If you ignore a Stone Chip given time it could become a Crack which will make it so that you have to replace the entire Windshield. As soon as he saw the Manufacturing Mark on the corner of the Windshield he told us it was Aftermarket and started educating us on the Quality Difference compared to an actual Ford Windshield. It took about Twenty Minutes for him to repair the Chip Mark so that it does not show.
Leaving there we drove back over to the NAPA Auto Parts Store. While we were at Borrego Springs we managed to lose one of our rear Mudflaps. When we looked at the local Truck Stops the only Mudflaps they carried were Lite-Weight Composite Flaps that wouldn’t last very long. The only ones NAPA had in stock already had somebody’s name on them so he suggested I go to the Parker Auto and Marine. Sure enough they had exactly what we needed and the Pair was cheaper then the Truck Stops were charging for a single Mudflap. They also carry replacement parts for our Honda Generator so we’ll be making another trip to Parker.
After that we were heading for the Movie Theatre next to the Blue Water Casino when the Truck finally went into Regen to clean the Diesel Particulate Filter. Since we still had time before the Movie started we kept driving for another Five Miles up the road before turning around and heading back. That allowed the Filter to be at least partially cleaned. If we had just turned the Truck off without allowing it time to clean the Filter it could eventually lead to it plugging up and stranding us on the roadside with another major repair bill.
We had a slight wait while the Theatre was being cleaned but we had first choice of seats. The movie “The Upside” with Kevin Hart, Neil Burger and Nicole Kidman was based on a True Story. It had us laughing and even sitting on the edge of our seats. It was a Feel-Good Movie that was about Two and a Half Hours long. We both gave it Two Thumbs Up and would be surprised if it doesn’t wind some kind of award.
It was after 6:00 when we came out and we still had shopping to do so we stopped at Taco Bell where we each enjoyed a Crunch Wrap for supper. As we were leaving I noticed a sign that interestingly enough even though there were Letters not working the words could still be pronounced the same way.
We went to Walmart across the road where we got the Groceries that we needed to stock up on. Back out in the parking lot there was at least Thirty RVs settled in for the night. From the time we left the Walmart parking lot to the time we had all our purchases in the Trailer was exactly One Hour.
We have another busy day planned for tomorrow that we’ll tell you about. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Too bad about the windshield ending up costing you $! Why is it people are always in such a hurry to get somewhere! Otherwise sounds like you had a great day! Today you'll be meeting up with friends, so that's great! 30 RVs wow..not the biggest parking lot there either!
