Our Location today is La Posa South
L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.
Even though we were toasty
warm under our Winter Bedding, as
soon as we got up this morning we knew that it was cold. Our inside temperature
was only reading 45 F (7 C) and since I haven’t connected our Blue Flame Heater yet Kathy had me
cycle the Furnace just so we could
enjoy breakfast in comfort.
It turned into a Two Cup Coffee Morning while struggling to do our morning reading on the Computers. Between connecting to the different On-Line Sites that we wanted to read we also planned what we needed to do today. We also wrote it down on our list so that we wouldn’t forget.

As we were getting ready to
leave we were lowering the Window Shades
so the heat wouldn’t build too high while we were away. Looking up towards the bedroom
I was amazed at the amount of Airborne
Dust that was being illuminated by the Sunlight
coming through the Windows.
Kathy said it was that way all the time but worse when we’re in the Desert. I made the suggestion that an Air Filtering System might help our Allergies as well as the Dust itself.
It was shortly after 10:30 when
we left La
Posa South to see about resolving
some of our new-found problems. I figured if we couldn’t get what we needed
here in Quartzsite
we would drive out to Parker.
When we arrived at RV Lifestyles on Dome
Rock Road I asked about a new Automatic
Switching Propane Regulator. The Salesperson
was all for selling us another Regulator
but one of the Techs started
asking questions of what was happening. Being that the only Propane Device that is having a problem
with the Propane is our Fridge it is more then likely the Control Card that needs to be replaced.
That didn’t cost us anything so we’ll be back for the other fittings we need
for our Blue Flame Heater.
We then headed to Herb’s Hardware where I needed to see if they had any ABS Plumbing Flanges. After dumping our
Waste Tank yesterday, I had noticed
a crack starting near the Valve where
the fitting was glued. I managed to find the perfect sized Flange that once it is bolted and glued to the Barrel should
eliminate any chance of a problem.
It was already past 12:30
and time for lunch. Since we like to patronize different Restaurants we drove over to Times Three Family Restaurant. Being in the
middle of lunch hour didn’t help and the place was packed. They have quite a
large menu and it seemed to take us forever to decide what we wanted but that
was fine. When our meals were served we were already starting to eat them
before we thought of taking pictures. Kathy had a Grilled Chicken with Sweet
Potato Fries while I had a Ruben with
Onion Rings. It all tasted great and
the portioning was perfect because we didn’t walk out feeling stuffed.
Since we didn’t need to go
to Parker
today we went to Road Runner Grocery Store on
Main Street to pick up a few supplies. Since they are IGA affiliates
they have a Butcher and Baker that keep their shelves stocked.
It wasn’t until we were
leaving that we remembered we needed to go to Family Dollar. Dropping Kathy at
the door I packed some of the groceries in one of our Insulated Shopping Bags before joining her inside.
It was past 3:30 when we
got back Home
so starting anything this late in the day outside was a waste so I went on the Computer. I started looking for Air Filters to cut down on the Airborne Dust in the Trailer. All those things are Big, Costly and run on 120 Volts
AC. We are trying to be less dependent on the Power Pole even when we are back at Wildwood Golf and RV Park for the summer. When we use our Inverters to
produce the Electricity we need, they
also use additional energy from the Batteries. This last summer we received a credit from our deposit because our Solar Panels were still charging our Batteries.
Since I am planning on installing
12 Volt DC Outlets throughout the Trailer I looked for Air Filters that would run on that
instead. Kathy was upset that I would consider another project but when I explained
that I would wait until we are back in McGregor
to make them she calmed a bit. When I showed her that I could make Two 12 Volt Air Filters for less then
half the price of a Store-Bought Desk
Top she agreed.
All day there were no
clouds in the sky but shortly after 4:30 it seemed like a race to cover over
the mountains. The Arizona Sunset did not disappoint this
evening. We only had a Donut and Hot Chocolate for supper tonight.
Tomorrow we’ll try to make progress on some of these projects that are piling
up. Thanks for following
along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Will the projects ever end? I say no, there will always be something to do.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to how you solve the dust problem which is never ending especially in the desert.
ReplyDeleteI see you are still as busy as ever, Rick. Just popping in to say hi to you and Kathy. One of these days I'll keep the computer out long enough to catch up on everyone's adventures. The iPhone spoiled the computer experience for me--it's so easy to look something up on the phone, but not so easy to read blogs. Again, glad all is well--I have missed you and think of you often.
