Cleaning Up, Getting Ready For Christmas, Prices You Can’t Pass Up and Sinking Sun.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

After laying awake in the dark I finally looked at my watch to find out that it was 6:30 MST. I tried turning over in hopes of catching just a few more minutes sleep but finally just got up at 6:50. It’s really disturbing being retired and not being able to sleep late like most people do. I had all the Window Shades raised, things were readied for a lite breakfast and then I settled in at the Computer by 7:00.

My plan was to get On-Line to hopefully beat others in the area and it worked. All the sites I connected to as if we were connected back in McGregor. The biggest achievement was getting into our G-mails through Google which has been a big problem recently. It wasn’t until 8:00 that Kathy finally made her way downstairs.

We talked about what we were doing and where we were going today while having breakfast but that was also how long it took for our Coffee/Tea to be ready. Having left my Computer on to Kathy’s G-mail she had her Tea while getting caught up on her reading. That meant my Coffee had a chance to cool while I took care of my inside morning Chores.

After I drank my Coffee I gathered our Weboost and headed out to the Truck. As mentioned in last night’s Blog I had put enough water from our Fresh Water Barrel into our Fresh Water Tank so we could both have our showers and the water was warm. If we were going anywhere this morning I had to transfer more water before I could lift the Barrel out of the Truck.

While the water was being transferred I used the time to test the Weboost on the 12 Volt Power Plug in the Truck and couldn’t get a flicker on any of the Indicator Lights. This tells me that there is a problem with the unit and not just with the 12 Volt System in the Trailer. The problems we are having in the Trailer are not hazardous, just frustrating because the wiring was not done using any kind of common sense.

Kathy and I are members of the Escapees RV Club and have taken many Safety Courses while attending their Rallies. A comment mentioned that with all the Electrical Problems we are having our Trailer is a Fire Hazard waiting to happen. Not So, because our problems are mostly Electronics. According to a Retired Firechief all RVs are Fire Hazards because of the Building Materials used to produce them.
Heading north on Arizona 95 towards Parker.
By 10:00 we were already north of Quartzsite heading for Parker. It was nice to be able to clearly see the Mountains after yesterday’s Wind Storm. It was shortly before 11:00 when we started checking out the shelves in the NAPA Auto Parts Store. It took a bit of time to find the proper Epoxy that I needed so Kathy was checking other things out. After she asked me about certain things that NAPA stocked we added a few more things to our Shopping Basket that helped Kathy scratch Three More Christmas Gifts off next year’s shopping list.

Our next stop was at Terrible’s Gas Station where we used one of their Self-Cleaning Car Wash Bays to give the Truck a good cleaning. After yesterday’s Dust Storm the Truck looked to be more of a Tan colour rather then it’s Burgundy colour. It isn’t perfect but a lot better then before.

It was getting close to noon and we were starting to get hungry so we went to Taco Bell for our lunch. The combos that we got were satisfying but didn’t make us feel stuffed.

From there we walked across the parking lot to Safeway to do some grocery shopping. We were there for some time because we have been using up lots of our food stocks. We also bought a bit more then we wanted as well because of their sales. When you live in your RV you can’t stockpile due to the lack of space. The problem was when Kathy would tell me to get Four cans of soup but the sign says if you buy Five the cost was half. There were other deals that we just had to take advantage of.

When we finished at Safeway, we drove across the road to Walmart. We no longer needed to buy groceries there so Kathy just wanted to browse around. By the time we left there our Christmas Shopping List for next year had almost disappeared.

It was amazing the amount of traffic on the roads this afternoon and the majority of them seemed to be RVers. Where could they possibly all be going? LOL
Sun just behind the shrub.
We almost didn’t want to drive back to our Trailer in the LTVA because the truck looked so clean. The first thing we did when we got Home was to open the last of our Windows and Vents to cool it down. After unloading all our purchases from the Truck we worked together putting the groceries away.
Got a quick picture in the other direction.
We grilled a ready-made Hawaiian Pizza on the Weber Q for our supper. It’s taken a lot of practice plus choosing the right kind of Premade Pizzas but they are now turning out perfect.
The Sun just dropped out of sight.
We stood outside to watch the Sunset and after taking one picture while it was still high in the sky I turned my back to look at something else off in the distance. Kathy said the Sun just sank like a Rock and was gone in a matter of seconds. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Krackers

Ask a silly question

If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
