Our Location today is North Ranch, Congress,
Arizona, U.S.A.
Sleeping until nearly 8:00
this morning I was a bit surprised that the sky was still cloud covered after
having seen The
Weather Network’s forecast indicating it would be a beautiful sunny
day. The more Window Shades that
were opened the less certain I was that we’d even see the Sun.
It seems that Kathy has
done something to her shoulder so it required taking a Tylenol for her to sleep last night. Even though it was closer to
8:30 when she got up she was able to sleep but her shoulder is still tender.
We had just gotten
ourselves comfortable with our Coffee/Tea
at the Computers when we both saw a UPS Delivery
Truck drive by. That didn’t look good as far as getting our package
today. No matter what we did this morning we were both having trouble getting On-Line. The fact that we have no Power to feed our Weboost really added to the
problem so I was hoping to be able to resolve that issue today, so I cut my
morning reading short.
As soon as my inside chores
were finished I called Amazon to find out where my Package was. When the order was placed it
was One but they broke it up into Three separate orders. The first Costumer Service Representative said
she couldn’t help me because my Billing
Address and Shipping Address
were different. After trying to explain to her the problem I finally just asked
for her Supervisor. In less then Two Minutes the Supervisor had my account up and we were cutting to the chase. I
was on Hold while a call to UPS
was put through. UPS claimed they lost the package and are now investigating
what happen to it. The soonest an Overnight
Delivery for a replacement would reach me is Monday. That’s Three Nights, so this order was cancelled and will be
reordered when we have another address that it can be sent to. That was a great
way to spend nearly an Hour of my
morning.
Since 2011 we have had a TracFone
that we have used while traveling in the US with no problem. Last year our first winter
in the southwest we used it a number of times with no problem but Kathy thought
that it would be a good idea if we got a second TracFone in case we got separated
in a store or I’d be on an errand and she might need something else. When we
saw that I could use a LG Smartphone we even replaced Kathy’s Flip Phone with an identical LG Smartphone.
Last week it was working fine but suddenly this week as soon as we tried to make
any call it would immediately disconnect itself. The tech that I was talking to
had us turning the phone on and off, then when that wouldn’t work had me pull
the Battery and SIM Card out to read the numbers on it. That required the use of Tweezers and a Magnifying Glass. The final verdict is that my new TracFone
purchase in Arizona
connects using the Verizon Cell Towers. Kathy’s TracFone
whose number that we originally got in Michigan is connecting through the AT&T Cell
Towers and they don’t have the connectivity that the Verizon Towers have. That sounds like a lot of “BS” to me but when we get that new
mailing address we’ll be getting a new SIM
Card for the phone sent to us. Another Hour wasted on the phone with no
positive ending.
Kathy made some Salmon Sandwiches with Pickled Asparagus for a side and a Mixed Berry Melody on a Sponge Cupcake base for dessert.
As our RV Dealer Representative mentioned the other day, the RV Manufacturers allow whoever is wiring
their units the freedom to wire everything as they see fit. After emptying part
of the Basement this afternoon, I was
able to access the Relay Panel they
installed behind the rear wall. I checked every circuit that was mounted back
there with no luck. I have seen circuits made up of four different colours of
wire of different lengths and thicknesses sliced together. I’ve also seen a 15 Amp Primary Fuse which fed a 25 Amp Secondary
Fuse that had a bunch of Lower Amp
Fuses tapped into the same line. Not being able to find the source of our
problem I’ll do like I did to our Security
Lamp last winter and rewire it myself when I have more time in a couple of
days.
Since we’ll be on the road
in the morning I had no choice but to put everything back together for the time
being. With Three things that didn’t
turn out in our favour today I was starting to feel more then a bit down but
Kathy fixed that. As a Merry Thanksmas
Gift our daughter-in-law Jen had given us an interesting sign that we felt
just had to go up on our wall. After only Ten
Minutes of work it was safely Velcroed
to the wall where everyone can see it as they come inside our Home.
It felt good to accomplish something positive.
The afternoon had turned
into a beautiful sunny day but if you sat in the shade outside it was on the
cool side. We had a nice Spinach Salad
with Cranberries, Olives and Nuts along with grilled Hamburgers for supper as well as Apple Pie for dessert.
We have the Truck ready for towing and everything but
the Utilities outside has been stored
away for traveling. Since we’ll only be driving around a Hundred Miles tomorrow we won’t be in too big a rush to leave in
the morning. Thanks for
following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to
enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Not having a set standard for the wiring and allowing the workers do it their way.
ReplyDeleteIt just says to me that they want to get the fifth wheel out the door fast.
We have Canadian phones that work here in the USA at no extra charge to our monthly billing but they also work on the AT&T network which doesn't seem as vast as Verizon. In the SOUTHEAST area of the USA we had no issues with connectivity but in the SOUTHWEST we've had connectivity issues at City of Rocks State Park in NM and when I read the reviews for Gunsight Wash near Why, Arizona they also indicate no AT&T service while Verizon seems fine. A few people I spoke with at City of Rocks stated that AT&T doesn't work as well as Verizon. So maybe the fellow wasn't spinning you a line. Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteTake care, be safe,

I've been having the same Amazon problems. You're not alone on that front!!
ReplyDeleteElectrical issues in an RV are almost always hard to find! Hope you have better luck in a few days time.
