Our Location today is La Posa South
L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.
Even though Kathy didn’t
fall asleep until after 3:00 this morning we were busy having breakfast by
8:30. There was a slight chill inside so we simply put on our Housecoats while we ate and had our Coffee/Tea while at the Computers.
Since I had barely gotten
the Blog posted on what battery
power I had last night, when we saw all the beautiful Sunshine streaming through our windows there was no hesitation to
turn on our Main Inverter which not
only allowed us to go On-Line but it
started recharging all our devices. Another interesting thing we noticed is
that we were having an easier time connecting to the Internet. While I was trying to catch up reading all the Blogs we follow Kathy was busy
corresponding with our Friends and Kids back in Ontario. It was like Night and Day. Last Night we
struggled to get on and there were only four other connections around us. This
morning there were over a dozen other sites signed on and yet we were getting a
great connection.
It was shortly after 10:00 when
we headed out this morning. We stopped at one of the Vendors on Tyson Wells Road where we had bought a Toaster that you use over the flame of
your stove. We thought that it would be wise to have a spare but they had just
sold the last of what they had on the Weekend.
They are expecting more by Friday so we left our name and phone number so they’ll
call when it gets here.
Since Kathy sat in the Truck yesterday while I scurried around
the other Vendors we crossed to the
other side of Arizona
95 so she could check things out
today. Kathy is a selective shopper but we bought some things at the Food Tent. Some
of the cans are Dented but others
are past their Best Before Date
while others are simply Labeled Upside
Down. It all adds up to savings at the checkout which helps our bottom
line.
We visited another of the
nearby Vendors and scratched
additional items off our next year’s Christmas Shopping List.
It was well past noon hour
and we were starting to feel hungry. The first place to catch our eye that was
just emptying out was Beer Belly’s Adult Daycare. We didn’t go there
last year but with an Onsight Grill
Truck, we had a filling lunch and refreshment that was cheaper and tastier
then at most fast food outlets. We’ll probably be back.
Kathy loves to look around
hardware stores so when we’d finished eating we walked around K & B as well as Burley’s Tools. I mistakenly called it Burt’s Tools in yesterday’s Blog.
Neither of those places had
any Wire again today so we drove up Arizona 95 to Herb’s Hardware. It is unbelievable how much
they carry in such a small place but the only Wire they sold was by the foot and not in the size that we need.
There are some things that you
can only get at certain stores and we knew that so pulling out of Herb’s we
kept on driving further north enjoying the scenery until we reached Parker.
Our first stop was the Ace Hardware Store where I managed to get a single
Rubber Seal and Three Flat Washers.
Our next stop was at Walmart.
We spent nearly Two Hours walking
and considering and knock an even greater number of things off next year’s Christmas Shopping
List. Kathy is very good at imagining what each person she is
shopping for needs or could use. Another thing is that gift items that are being
sold here in the southwest will not make it to our Home Region to be sold until next year. That means we can buy
it this year, give it to the recipient at our family Merry Thanksmas next fall and they’ll just be starting to see those
things appear on the shelves around home. We did get about five grocery items
as well before leaving.
Seeing McDonalds across the street and
knowing we had another hour before we’d get Home we stopped for supper. Even
though I ordered a Chicken Sandwich I
ended up with one of their New Bacon
Burgers.
Leaving there we now had
the Sun in our eyes as we tried to
watch for an Auto Parts Store. Just
after getting back on Arizona 95 we
spotted a NAPA
Auto Parts. Like everyone else they did not have the Size of Wire that I needed but they
could order it. The same roll would have cost half the amount in Windsor
but we are not there. As we were about to drive away I remembered other things
they might have. They again were not in stock but they could order them.
It was a picturesque drive
back to La
Posa South LTVA and we managed to
arrive just as the area went totally dark. Using our Security LED Lights to brighten the darkness we had no problems
seeing as we brought our purchases inside for the night.
With the groceries put away
it was time to go write our Blog but
first we had to check our E-Mails. A
Half-Hour later of continually
getting messages saying Google and Other Sites were “Not Available”
finally had me calling Verizon back. Curtis attempted to reprogram the
MiFi from his end with no luck
before getting Tech Coach Jacob
involved. After Eighty-Minutes on
the phone the end result is that we need a New
SIM Card. (That’s the same thing as Kathy’s phone. Is it catchy?) We are at the mercy of the Electronic World and are hoping to continue keeping in touch with
the real world.
After finally being able to
check the local weather report minutes ago the Windchill for this area will hit 37 F (3 C) tonight. It
will definitely be a Snuggle kind of
night. Thanks for
following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to
enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
Due to Problems with our
Verizon MiFi there will be
Verizon MiFi there will be
no Pictures.

I remember my Verizon MiFi not working so great there. I always got up at 5:00 am, which allowed me a very slow connection. By 7:00 I never could get back on. Is it the same in town?
ReplyDeleteRemember when they said technology was going to make our lives easier? They surely lied, didn't they?
ReplyDeleteI gave up Verizon a long time ago the cost and crummy service and the excuses they have are to much for my short patience.
ReplyDeleteWOW I can't believe it will be colder there than here in Tucson tonight. But we will be getting there in a few more days. Stay warm
