Dealing With Verizon Again, Credit Card Duplicated, Antenna Mast Kits and Meeting More RV Bloggers.

Our Location today is Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

Even though we both managed to keep the covers pulled up to our necks last night we seemed to find that we were cold. No, we did not have the Electric Fireplace on but had our New Flannel Bed Sheets on because the Temperature was 48 F (9 C) outside. when we got up this morning it didn’t take long to turn on our Fireplace to at least cut the chill in the air. Having breakfast before 8:00 MST we discussed the fact that the Lack of Humidity seemed to intensify the warmth could possibly be doing the same with the cooler night-time temperatures.

The other day I mentioned the Night-Mare I had trying to add to our Prepay Verizon Card to our Account only to accomplish the impossible within minutes the next day. Minutes after we posted our Blog last night our Verizon MiFi connection went down. It did however show that we could pay our account Online using a Credit Card. What happen to our Prepaid Credit? When I tried calling them an Automated message said they closed at 8:00 pm EST. I found that hard to believe but waited until this morning to call them back. Speaking with one of Verizon’s representatives I questioned why Our Prepaid Card didn’t just kick in. His explanation was that amount of Data was supposed to last us so long and Verizon could not just automatically transfer it over because we might be saving it for next month. I suggested a rule change that he agreed to present to his supervisor.

Kathy had also noticed a double charge on one of our Credit Cards when she had checked our accounts yesterday. Luckily, we travel with two. When I called the Credit Card Company they told me my card had been Duplicated and a new one would be Couriered to me here at Quail Run RV Park

We had planned to go visiting this afternoon and were just going to relax at Home this morning. Around 9:30 a cleaning crew showed up to wash our neighbour’s Truck and Trailer. The park rules state that we can’t wash our trailer using park water. This company came in with a very Large Water Tank on the rear of their truck and a noisy Gas Powered Pressure Washer. We were starting to get headaches from the noise so we opted to have an early lunch so we could leave earlier. As we were leaving at 11:30 the crew finished their job.
We had an appointed visit for this afternoon that had been put on hold, so we decided to stop at K & B Tools. When looking for Antenna Mast Material the other day the owner of the Herb’s Hardware Store had suggested I try going to K & B Tools first. While I was looking at their materials in stock a worker asked what it was for and then told me they had a Mast Kit. Even Kathy thought that was a good price but the lengths were too long for hauling in the trailer so they adjusted the kit to suit our needs and it was still a good price. We also found a Sun-Screen that will help when the sun starts getting too hot under our Awning. Couldn’t beat the prices.
We were in search of Barb from Me and My Dog in the La Posa South LTVA who was parked not too far from George and Suzie from Our AwesomeTravels. When people give you directions to their Home in the city it is very simple, give an Address, maybe some street directions and everyone arrives at their destination safe and sound. When you are out in the desert, the directions are the Name of the LTVA or BLM, an approximate distance from the main road, turn North, East, South or West, past the number of Washes and you should be there. Don’t miscalculate mileage on a vehicle that has a metric odometer and don’t miss count the number of washes.
George being his helpful self.
The next thing we knew we were again arriving at George and Suzie’s RV already headed back towards the main gate. We saw Suzie but she couldn’t find George so she was going to check at their Ontario Neighbours Gerry and Melinda’s trailer to see if he was there.
Bill with Clemson and Patsy.
We drove another hundred feet in the same area of La Posa South were another couple from Ontario that we have tried to meet up with for over a year are parked. We pulled up in front of Bill and Patsy’s Mobile Suite and could see a couple of people on the other side of the trailer.  It was George helping Bill resolve an issue they were having with their water pump. Patsy came out to greet us and we all stood out in the sun talking until we realized it would be cooler sitting down under the awning.
Barbara is neatly tucked away in her favourite site.
George headed back to his place and left the four of us to visit. Even though this was our first meeting because we have followed one another’s blogs it was as if we had been old friends for years. Bill writes the blog On Our Way, and Patsy writes her blog Chillin’ with Patsy. We compared notes on transitioning to Fulltiming and the freedom it affords us. We also compared some of the modifications we are making to our RVs. We noted that both Bill and Kathy are the worriers in the group though they are getting better, while Patsy and I were more laidback. We got the grand tour of their beautiful trailer and we compared the few similarities. Before we knew it two hours had passed and Kathy still had some grocery shopping to do.
As we waved a temporary good bye we headed further back into La Posa South. Before George had left he had given us instructions on how to find Barb’s RV. I recognized the Palms as we got closer by the way Barb had described her camp. We were about to drive away when Barb came out to talk to us. She apologized about not meeting today saying she was just about to head to Town for supplies but we’ll get together for a visit on the Weekend. No problem for us, we have time. Maybe she thought we were trying to mug her but Katie was letting us know she was there to protect her Mom. As we drove away towards the paved road going by a Certain Saguaro Cactus and Wash we realized we had driven right by the Palms earlier.
Our quick serve Supper from the Road Runner Grocery Store Deli.
Heading into town we went to the Road Runner Grocery Store where we managed to get needed supplies as well as a few things from their Deli Counter. The Rotisserie Chicken, Lasagna and Potato Salad made for a wonderful supper when we got back Home. Tomorrow I’m hoping to make a big advancement on the Solar Panels for the trailer. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. I love the mountains also. They are ever changing.
I bet with all the cold you can't wait to use that Sun-Screen.

  3. I've never been to Quartzite. I really prefer the northwest, but I don't full time so I don't have to get down to the desert areas for warmth. I guess it's meeting up with other couples that is such a drawer, and therefore a problem for me. I hear you can get just about anything you need in Quartzite. It's cold back here, too, right now. Hope you enjoy your stay.
