Our Location today is Quartzsite,
Arizona, U.S.A.
Something strange happen last
night after we went to bed. The temperature stayed in the mid forties instead
of the lower thirties like previous nights. That may not mean a hill of beans
to the kids and our friends back in Ontario that are dealing with piles of snow as
well as very frigid temperatures but it did to us. Having made such allowances
for colder temperatures we had added extra blankets which meant instead of
staying warm under the blankets we kept tossing them aside in order to cool
down.
All that added up to our
sleeping in later so we didn’t have breakfast until after 8:00 MST this morning. Having accomplished
getting the Solar Panels charging
the Batteries with all the Safeties in place yesterday we weren’t
in a big rush today. There is still more to do such as installing the EMS and Its Monitor the Remote
Monitor for the Charge Controller
as well as replacing a couple of the Rocker
Switches in our Control Panel for
the Security Lights
This morning we got caught
up on our morning reading on the computers and indoor chores. It was while I was
doing my indoor chores that I realized that while Visiting, Exploring, Shopping and Working on our Solar Panels
and Charging System another Indoor Chore needed to be done our Laundry. I got the laundry sorted while
Kathy made us an early lunch. With it being just over a week since it was last
done I figure there would still be half the afternoon to get more work done on
the trailer.
When I walked in to the Laundry Room there was no-one else there. After getting three
wash loads going I started working on my Cryptograms.
Once I had things transferred to the dryers I brought the delicates back to the
trailer to dry on the bar in our Shower.
Kathy was still busy making
reservations for a day of Jeep Tours
in the
Desert when we are in the Sedona area
in January. She figures that even though we plan on returning to the area next
year, what happens if we can’t. With that way of thinking her new term is “Do it Now! Why Wait!” so we’ll be busy
this January.
Back at the Laundry Room others were starting to get their washing going
as I folded the clothes from the first dryer. When I opened the second dryer I was
in for a big disappointment. The clothes were still damp and cold but looking
at the filter they had been through their cycle just not the one that I’d
chosen. Transferring them to another dryer I returned to the trailer with the
folded clothes.
I headed back ahead of time
and the clothes were ready for folding. I talked with Larry and Mary who have
now been Fulltiming for eight years.
We compared notes of how we each downsized before hitting the road. The biggest
thing that Larry misses is having a shop to work on some of his projects. I
mentioned that just less then a week ago, but mentioned to Larry today, “You just have to work around that and
adjust your work habits”. Their son and daughter-in-law who are in their
mid thirties have just this month become Fulltimers
as well.
After I’d put my clean clothes
away, dumping our tanks and then gathered a few tools from the basement that I’ll
need in the morning it was time to start making supper. We kept it light while Kathy
cooked a Sweet Potato and Brussels Sprout inside I grilled a
couple of Turkey Dogs on the Weber. Everything tasted great!

Something else Kathy and I planned
on attending this year that is now being advertise is the Third Annual Blogger-Fest. This is a chance for Bloggers and Followers alike to meet the people behind the stories we read. Lorne
Green from the Blog A Place Called “Away” has stepped forward to organize it this year so
if you are in the neighbourhood on the last weekend of the Big Tent
in Quartzsite
feel free to stop by and say Hello.
With slightly warmer but
damp weather tomorrow I hope to get more work completed. If not, we’ll be up to
something else. Isn’t this RV Lifestyle
great? Thanks
for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
