Our Location today is Quartzsite,
Arizona, U.S.A.
With the night time temperatures
forecasted to be the same as the last few nights we simply ran the Electric Fireplace and covered
ourselves under the New Flannel Bed
Sheets hoping to stay warm last night. We managed not only to stay warm but
by the middle of the night we were actually to warm causing us to shed the top Bed Cover. Within a few more hours the Bed Cover was once again needed. We’ll
be shutting the heater off before going to bed tonight.
We were both up having
breakfast by 8:00 MST this morning
when we discussed what we needed and wanted to do today. While Kathy did her
morning reading I did my morning chores and got ready to go out. While I did my
morning reading Kathy was getting herself ready to go out exploring. It wasn’t
long after 9:00 MST that we were on
our way to town.
Our first stop this morning
was Discount
Solar on East Main Street in Quartzsite. I had ordered a Sixty Ampere Charge Controller and Digital Display from Mike the
first week that we were in Deming, New Mexico. True to his word he had put it
aside for me to pick up. He also thanked me for sticking to my word about when I
would be in to pick it up. We saw a number of other things that we’ll be
interested in after I finish assembling what I have already accumulated.
Same RV George saw the other day. |
The next thing on our
agenda was to just drop in to say hello with George and Suzie from Our Awesome Travels. We found the road into La Posa South LTVA and slowly made our way keeping a sharp eye
peeled for their Motor Home. We made
our way through many dry washes nearly reaching the mountain range behind the LTVA.
We slowly drove back making certain that we saw all the RVs in the area. We
knew we were in the right area when we drove by the RV that George had pointed
out as having so many Solar Panels
attached in their Blog the other
day.
Back in Quartzsite we
drove throughout many of the neighbourhoods making certain that we didn’t miss
anything. We checked out the Road Runner Market
and were amazed at their selection of not only Dry and Canned Foods
but their Produce and Meat Selection as well.
We also saw the Hi Jolly
Monument and Cemetery. Having read many RV Blogs that had documented their stops there, we were curious to
see it in person ourselves. It was a mixture of Old Weather Worn Wooden Markers
from the mid-Eighteen Hundreds, that
had Historic tags explaining who was interred on the spot probably verified by
the town records, to more modern markers with burials as late as the End of the last Millennium.
With the Cold North Wind chilling us through
there was one more place we wanted to see today. This place has been advertised
on many blogs and we have already had commenters telling us not to miss Silly Al’s
Pizza. Looking at it from the outside this is a small place but when
you go inside it’s Huge. Everyone raves how delicious the pizza is and we
thought we’d find out for ourselves. The place is spotlessly clean and even the
restrooms are cleaner than some Five Star Hotels. The pizza made the top of
our list and we had plenty to bring home for Supper.
Back at Home
Kathy did some bookkeeping while I managed to get a few minor repairs done on
the truck and some organizing in the basement.
According to the Weather Guessers there is a Cold Front that is bringing lots of
that Northerly Weather down to the Quartzsite
area. We are looking forward to feeling the Warm Southerly Breezes. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Employee Evaluation
"This employee is really not so much of a
has-been, but more of a definite won't be."
Sounds like your first day at the Q was a success. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThought we saw you drive by here about 11 am we are just north of that trailer with the solar one wash.
ReplyDeleteWe like to block the wind with our rv and enjoy the warm sunshine and found it quite comfortable.
I keep forgetting to mention, your new 5th wheel looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you drove out to spot Tom and I like to park when we stay at LaPosa South...we park just before the sign that reads: no overnight camping past this point.
We do like Silly Al's Pizza. Enjoy your time.
