Is This Ontario or Arizona?

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

We managed to sleep until nearly 8:30 this morning and sat talking long past the time it took to have breakfast. By the time we had finished our second cup of coffee I noted that I needed to take my morning shower and shave before the buildings Hot Water was shut off. Yesterday there were notices posted at all the entrances and elevators that the hot water boiler would be shut down for four hours today for maintenance purposes.

Once I was cleaned up I started making phone calls and one was to Bell our Internet/Phone provider who we have our Turbo Hub through. We had noticed that last month we had a higher usage than the whole time we were away this winter. Using the Verizon System we had never exceeded 4.5 Gig of usage. On this Bell system it was skyrocketing and we were shutting our computers at night and I’ve been posting a lot less pictures than while we were away as well.

The tech reviewing our account looked at our usage and told me the dates that all this started. Remember I just added Norton Anti-Virus earlier last week. Activating it on each computer used over a Gig of data and every time we turn on the computers the program reconnects to Norton using even more data. Also the Electrical Companies have been saying for years even when your equipment is turned off it is still using power. The same thing holds true for the computers that are connected to the internet using Ethernet Cables. Every night after shutting the computers down I would still see the data light showing on the Turbo Hub. Our PC’s are temporarily off-line because I disconnected the Ethernet Cables.

This afternoon we headed out in search of those elusive parts that I needed for our truck. We stopped at a few different auto parts stores with no luck until the last stop at Bogar’s who sell parts meant for semis. That’s right there are already many full sized truck parts on our pickup with possibly of more to follow and the best part is that they cost less than parts from the auto suppliers and are better made.

We also had our Christmas Shopping list with us and with only 161 days left we managed to whittle down the list of gifts we still need. We were very lucky on the number of gifts that we managed to find today in Air Conditioned stores. I forgot to mention that the Humidex for our area climbed to 113 F (45 C) today.

Afterwards we splurged and had grilled chicken wraps at McDonald’s for supper in Amherstburg before our Wednesday evening visit with Kevin and Melissa. Staying inside out of the heat we had our usual pleasant visit with healthy dose of laughter.

More high temps are predicted for tomorrow so we’ll figure out what needs to be done then. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
