Long Walk Shopping Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

The thunderstorm was part of the problem for our power outage last night which played havoc in the area the better part of the night. The storm also made it much more difficult to sleep between all the flashes of lightening and claps of thunder.

When we left early to go Mall Walking the temperature was already feeling like 99F (37C) and when we arrived before 9:00 we were surprised the stores don’t open until 9:30 during the summer. As a courtesy the Devonshire Mall opens the main corridor to people who only want to power walk inside the Air Conditioned Mall and plan to leave before the shopping public arrives.

Kathy and I planned on looking for gift ideas and we were taking our time walking more on a casual basis so we could take everything in. By noon hour we had covered a lot of ground and we had even scratched a few more things off of our Christmas Shopping list. With only 162 days left we don’t want to get caught having to shop at the last minute. We went in stores it the mall that we have never been in before and were really surprised that a couple of them that looked to be small at the front actually extended far behind some smaller stores on either side of them.

We left heading towards home around 1:30 with the intention of stopping at Princess Auto and Canadian Tire for other things that I needed for the truck. Kathy had also been looking for more gift ideas but was unimpressed with the selection so we changed our plans about going home just yet.

Now we headed back to Walmart where we managed to find a few other items on our list. We needed to stop for a snack at the in-store McDonald’s because even though we were walking inside an Air Conditioned building we were still becoming dehydrated. With their $1.00 any sized pops we were able to quench our thirsts.

As we were about to head for home Mother Nature surprised us with an afternoon thunderstorm and teaming rain. After waiting a few minutes I told Kathy to stay put and I brought the truck around to pick her up at the door keeping her a much dryer. I also dropped her at the apartment door before parking the truck. I must have just closed the door in the apartment when the rain suddenly stopped like someone had just flipped a switch.

The temperature at its peak today was 109F (43C) so we didn’t want to be outside too much today. With warmer temps predicted for tomorrow we’ll be up to something to stay cool. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
