Our Location today is Tecumseh , Ontario .
Waking shortly after 8:00 this morning we sat at the dining
room table to have our cereal and coffee while watching the weather channel.
Yesterday they had predicted cooler temperatures for today and they reaffirmed
it this morning. Today the humidex would only feel like 113 F (45 C) compared
to yesterday’s higher temperatures. As I explained to Kathy this would be what we’d
feel if we were in the mountain areas of Montana at this time of year since
they have low to no humidity.
Since we have made plans in Jell-O to do some light
travelling this summer once the surgeon says that I’m good to go we have other
things that need to be done before that. So with only 159
days before Christmas we needed to continue working on our Christmas
shopping list.
Sometimes you buy things for someone that needs batteries
and we always make certain to supply those with the gift. Kathy was in such a
rush to wrap gifts that she wrapped two without taking note of the battery
requirement. Our first stop was to Toys-R-Us at the Roundhouse Center for the
needed research and additional purchases. The number of checkmarks on our
shopping list continues to grow and we know that when we are done we’ll be able
to avoid the mayhem of the holiday shopping crowds.
Next we went across the street to the Devonshire Mall where
we started by going to Target first and walking through the entire mall. We
stopped at the food court and had a unique Spaghetti and Meatball half dinner
for lunch that left us satisfied but not uncomfortably stuffed. Continuing our
walk we managed to find even more items to help fulfill the things on our
shopping list.
Arriving home before 3:00 I dropped Kathy as close to the
door of the building as I could before parking the truck. Luckily today the
wind has been blowing a moderately warm breeze but it is helping to make it
feel more comfortable than yesterday. The Tropical-like Storm that was
predicted for this afternoon didn’t occur until nearly dark and doesn’t look to
be as bad as earlier predicted. Of course it is supposed to continue through
the night so if you see us floating by you’ll know we got slammed.
The temperatures are supposed to continue falling through
the weekend before rebounding a bit next week. This could be a chance for us to
enjoy some outdoor time. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a
comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
