Quick Errands and High Heat.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Waking better rested this morning we were looking forward to a slight drop in the outside temperatures. Imagine our surprise when the revised Weather Channel report showed that the Humidex would feel more like 115 F (46 C) this afternoon which was warmer than yesterday. They were also showing tomorrow to be a very wet day with Tropical Type Thunderstorms so we quickly changed our plans. It’s a good thing there is no such thing as Global Warming.

In order to beat the high heat which would cause Kathy problems we decided to run some errands this morning. We were on our way to Zehrs grocery store shortly after 9:00 where we needed to pick up supplies to make a special birthday cake for our granddaughter Kylla. Using a list we picked up most of the ingredients at Zehrs. Our next stop was the Bulk Barn where we purchased the cake board, cake box and the special ingredients that will make this cake so special. Our last stop was the Dollar Store for the very last ingredient before we were headed back home.

We had used insulated shopping bags to make certain that the heat wouldn’t melt most of our purchases. Just walking from the truck to the apartment door had me feeling as if I’d just walked in front of a blast furnace in the plant I used to work in.

After lunch Kathy busied herself with wrapping many of the Christmas gifts that we had purchased in the last few days. With only 160 days before Christmas Kathy has already wrapped about three quarters of all the gifts that we’ll be giving all finished and looking good. I worked at adding the rest of the maintenance expenditures we have made on the truck since the first day we had it and am nearly finished.

Around 3:00 in the afternoon we had another surprise when we started hearing thunder off in the distance and was followed with a good solid rain that made the grass well saturated. That was something that the Weather Channel had not predicted to happen. An hour later you would never have known it had rained at all. Supper involved me grilling a couple of nice Sirloin steaks while Kathy put together a nice Mexican Salad to go with them.

Tomorrow is supposed to be slightly cooler so we’ll see what we might do. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
