We may have gotten up before 8:00 but we did what was necessary before we left the apartment to run errands before 9:30 this morning.
First we had to stop by Henry’s Camera shop at the Roundhouse Center this morning. The flexible hood that they sold me yesterday was the wrong size because they thought I was using a Canon lens instead of the Sigma that I’m using.
Our next stop was across the street at the Devonshire Mall we went to the Bay so Kathy could continue her quest to find a top that would match an outfit she has. When they didn’t have anything we stepped into the mall to look at a few more clothing stores before leaving.
Leaving there we headed to Winners and she even managed to find a few tops to try but they just didn’t fit right.
At the Tecumseh Mall she went to Pennington’s where she managed to find a few tops to try and did make a purchase but not for the outfit she was looking for.
By this time it was lunch so we stopped in at McDonalds. Eating at the Golden Arches today had special meaning. Throughout Canada anything sold today would see a percentage of the sales going to support local charities and an equal percentage would go to help support Ronald McDonald House which is a place where families can stay to be near their children that are being treated for life threatening illnesses at the children’s hospitals in the area. That was quite a deal helping to satisfy our appetites and supporting a good cause at the same time.
Next we stopped at Food Basics which is another grocery store in our area. Kathy has been looking for certain food stocks we normally use but can no longer remember what grocery chain it was she could get it at. The fact that we were away for three and a half months in the US didn’t help either.
We stopped at the apartment to drop off some fruit that we’d bought at the grocery store and to pick up some things we needed to bring out to the trailer. We headed to our daughter Karen’s to pick up some wood we needed to bring to our son Kevin tonight.
On our return trip from Florida we also managed to damage one of the mud flaps on the truck. I had tried replacing it at Canadian Tire since that was where I had purchased the first set that I put on the truck but they no longer carry them. The only place I was able to find the mud flaps was at the local Freightliner dealer.
Now we were finally able to head out to Sun Parlour Trailers to retrieve my drill from the trailer and to drop other things off in the trailer. I also took the time to drain the fresh water tank and Kathy propped open the fridge so we wouldn’t have mold problems. They have already ordered the new parts for the repairs even though they are still waiting for the Insurance Company to give them the go ahead.
Now it was supper time and we were getting hungry so we went to the Amherstburg McDonalds for something to eat and to support the local charities. Not bad twice in one day! It will probably be another month or longer before we go back.
Since we were still too early to go to our son’s we stopped at the Amherstburg Walmart to pass some time. They are just bringing in their new summer stock and Kathy managed to find a number of tops to go with her outfit and at a very reasonable price.
We finally made it to Kevin’s where I helped him unload the wood that I had brought from his sister’s place. Kathy and Melissa were well on their way to visiting when we walked in. We always enjoy our visits with them but the time just seems to fly by and before we knew it was time to head for home.
Even Sulley came to say hello tonight. |
It’s about time.
