After having an early morning yesterday all that I could think of last night was a good night’s sleep. It didn’t happen as I spent most of the night tossing and turning all night. That was surprising since we had the Windows open because our Temperatures rose through the night. Knowing that the Alarm was again set made it feel like a Pretravel Night where the anticipation is so great that we barely sleep. I was up before the Alarm getting Breakfast ready then waking Kathy with a Loving Kiss.

Since we took time to have breakfast this morning we didn’t get on the road until after 8:00. I was certain today we would be stuck making numerous stops behind School Buses with their Flashing Lights. Traffic in both directions must stop when that is happening to protect the children. We again lucked out because the Bus we were following was empty and was heading back to the depot.
Warm Cloudy Skies this morning.
We arrived early at Rose City Ford in Windsor to get the Escape in for its Oil Change and a Check-up on a shifting irregularity. Being that others had not shown up for their appointments they took us in immediately. CBC News channel was on in the Customer Lounge so we were exposed to a lot of Political Baloney from both sides of the Border. The worst news we got was the Weather Forecast showing Colder Temperatures with Precipitation Of White heading to our area before we are scheduled to leave.

By 10:00 the Car was ready and nothing showed up on the Computer as a fault with the Transmission. Everything is Electronically Controlled today so the problem can hide itself before returning. If there was a problem with the old mechanical transmissions it didn’t go away and you found it right away. At least the problem is on record so if it causes problems it’s covered.

With time on our hands we went to walk around the newly renovated Walmart. It was turned upside down for a while but now it’s better. We were impressed with a few things but not others. We did find a number of $5.00 Movies that we’ll be able to watch during the winter.

It was nearly 11:30 when we left and our early breakfast was leaving us hungry so we went over to Arby’s for lunch. We don’t want to tire of our favourite so we try finding other Inexpensive Meals. Arby’s had Two Bacon Cheddar Roast Beef Sandwiches for $8.00. Tasty and Filling.

Kathy reads a lot of books and lucky for her the Park has a Book Exchange Library that gives her a supply of fresh material. When we left Arby’s, we went across the parking lot to Value Village. They sell gently used books at reasonable prices but to make it even better, if you buy Four Books you get One Free. Kathy might have enough books to see her through the winter now.
Clear Cool Skies this afternoon.
I wrote a while back how we bring our Medications and Vitamins from home when we travel. A while back I started the process of gathering the Vitamins so we don’t Break the Bank by getting them all at once. Since we are leaving in four weeks we headed over to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Manning Road to get the last of what we need. When shopping on Thursdays at Shoppers you get an Additional 20% Senior’s Discount off your entire purchase. Even though it was costly today we saved a lot and we got a lot of points that we can use to save money, even at the Grocery Store.
Sanford with his new Toy.
It was still early so we headed over to our daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh. It has been a while but we had a Gift to deliver. When we walked in Sanford was just happy just to see us but when Kathy gave him his new Toy he couldn’t stop shaking from the excitement. He never put it down the entire time we were there. When Greg came home from work Sanford brought his new Toy to show him. We talked for a few minutes before heading out.

It was only 4:00 but it was time to have supper so we went to the Wendy’s where we each had a Chicken Wrap from the Value Menu, along with Two Small Chocolate Frosties and Two Senior’s Soft Drinks for only $9.32. We took our time, enjoying our tasty meal but it was soon time to head out.

We had brought our Jackets with us and by 5:00 we were putting them on because the temperature was down to the low 50s. That’s right the temp was dropping while we were enjoying a beautiful Sun filled afternoon.
Tyler (Black 87)
We went to the Tecumseh Arena for 5:30 to watch Tyler play Hockey. After being away from it for a year he found a league that he could play in close to home. This league consists of Teenagers 16 and Older. Tyler seemed to play like he always did but some of his team-mates forgot there is no I in team, which was a costly mistake.

Once the game was over we headed back to Karen’s where we helped celebrate Tyler’s 17th Birthday as well as brief visit.

After a bunch of Hugs, we were soon on our way to Guardian Storage and our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. Since we won’t be home for Christmas and this is our Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend coming up we’ll be celebrating Merry Thanksmas with our family. Not knowing when we’ll be back to town we picked up all the Gifts we had stored there. With our back seat folded down some of those Gifts were stored on top of today’s purchases.

When we arrived Home in the Park, we were so tired that we only brought in what was necessary and the rest can wait until tomorrow. Tonight’s low will be just above the Freezing Mark. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Seems we all have hockey games to see before heading out. What kind of books does Kathy read? We always are exchanging books out.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and dinner with family.
