Checking Campgrounds and Meeting RV Bloggers.

Our Location today is Sugarloaf Key, Florida.

Last night after posting our blog I took the time to get caught up on my reading. After noting that a couple of the bloggers were heading our way I simply put out the invitation to get together. We then carried on our recovery from all the walking done on Monday in Key West and we even slept until 8:00 this morning.
Once breakfast was finished we did our morning blog reading as well as our E-mails. I announced to Kathy that we’d be having company later today as a response from Nancy said they’d be seeing us later today.
We then headed out the door for a bicycle ride to check out another nearby RV Park called Lazy Lake. Using the bike path that runs along the highway it only took five minutes to get there. We simply rode through with nobody manning the gate. We rode the entire park but noted this to be better suited as a fishing camp. The sites are very private but tight and would not fit a rig our size.
When we got back to our park we rode around looking for a different site that would be more suitable if we returned to this area. Our present site is directly across from the pool which abuts the Tiki Bar that can get loud most every night. Armed with a few possibilities we went back to the trailer and sat outside discussing both parks and the possible return to the area in the future to continue exploring the Keys. For lunch I grilled hot dogs on the Weber. After lunch both Kathy and I were online researching different things that would be to our benefit.
Iguanas sunbathing by the pool.
Supper time came along and again I used the Weber to grill a couple steaks while Kathy Sautéed Spinach and plated Potato Salad to round off our meal. Once the dishes were done I went for a bike ride and found what I was looking for.

Kathy and I were sitting outside when Nancy and Doug Beglaw from Running Away with Doug and Nancy came around the corner. We sat talking like old friends listening to tales of their travels in Mexico and the US.  We all compared notes of selling our homes in order to have the freedom to travel the way we do. Finally around the time the Karaoke singers started sounding like sick dogs at the Tiki Bar they headed back to their rig to have supper with the promise that we’ll get together again before we leave on Monday.

We must be gluttons for punishment because we didn’t see as much as we’d have liked to when we were in Key West on Monday so we’re heading back tomorrow with a plan. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. There's never any warning about being within earshot of those Karaoke bars. I've had that "pleasure". Glad they packed it in around midnight.
