Recovery Day.

Our Location today is Sugarloaf Key, Florida.

After getting up early and then walking nearly ten miles back and forth around the historic section of Key West yesterday by the time we got home last night we were well worn out. Combine that with an intense rain storm and winds that shook the trailer through most of the night we both slept like rocks.
Rough water at the Most Southerly Point.
During breakfast while watching the Weather Channel all we could do was yawn the whole time we sat there. We were doubtful when they said there would be cloud covered skies with a cool breeze blowing in from the north all day but were even more surprised later in the afternoon when we went outside and it was downright cold.
Some homes had no front yards.
Today Kathy was really in pain from all the walking and stair climbing we did yesterday so we just relaxed at the trailer so she could heal. Our lunch was the leftovers from our late supper we didn’t finish from Mangrove Mama’s last night.

For supper we weren’t in the mood to cook so we thought we’d just drive a bit down the road and try a different restaurant. A few we passed were packed but had a lot of stairs that Kathy couldn’t climb today while others were closed up.
Trees are protected in Key West.
We finally stopped at the Outback Steakhouse around the 5 mile mark back in Key West. The soup was warming and the steaks done to perfection with fast friendly service.

Tomorrow we’ll be doing more exploring with improved weather conditions. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Sometimes you just have to stop and take a break from the tourist mode. Sounds like you two are enjoying things.
