Packing Up and Final Happy Hour Together.

Our Location today is Sugarloaf Key, Florida.

Both Kathy and I slept soundly last night. In fact we slept so well that we found it hard to wake up at 8:30 so after breakfast we got caught up on our computer reading. The next thing we did was to start dismantling our office. Yes it is the day we all dread packing day.
If you look real close you can see Kathy on the Beach.
I was standing on the highway bridge for this shot.
Before we would get too serious about the task at hand Kathy and I had to take a picture of our campground from a different point of view. When you write your blog post and tell people you’re in the Keys they don’t understand that it is a series of Islands connected by bridges and a highway. So we took a picture of Kathy to prove our point.

Okay your eyes are like mine. A little Zoom and Cropping and there she is.
Once that was finished Kathy noted it was almost noon hour and she decided we were having hotdogs. The Weber did a quick and precise job cooking them to perfection.
Hotdogs and Potato Salad.
Now the time was approaching 12:30 and I was behind schedule. I started flushing and draining our waste tanks. Next was stowing the drain hoses and support systems. Every once in a while I needed to take a break to cool down because the 79 F (26 C) temp with 97% humidity felt exactly 97 F (37 C). Nancy had stopped over for a quick visit and she felt almost cold in the Air Conditioned trailer.

Just before 4:00 I went inside to wash up for Happy Hour. At precisely 4:00 with a knock on the door Doug and Nancy arrived wondering why we weren’t outside. Kathy has difficulty breathing in warm humid temperatures. Since we were visiting in our office and Nancy was having problems with Blogger (as most of us have at some time or another) so it was easy for me to simply show her how to adjust it using our blog as an example. The rest of the time we talked about towing trailers and family.
Until we meet again Nancy and Doug.
The time flew by and when it was time to say our final see you down the road with hugs and handshakes it was almost a sad moment. Kathy and I both hope to see Doug and Nancy again in the future even though we don’t know if or where our paths will cross again. We truly feel connected with this young couple. Tomorrow they will be off on an adventure when we pull out.
We will miss them!

Even though Kathy had earlier extended an invitation to supper we were told they had food that needed to be eaten in their fridge before it spoiled. So for the second time today I fired up the Weber to grill some nice meaty Spare Ribs on Low and Slow. I had time to pack away the Sunshade and our Storage Skirt before it was time to eat. Kathy made a wonderful Caesars Salad to go with the ribs.
Our site looks very empty tonight.
By the time we finished doing the dishes the Weber had cooled enough to be packed away for travelling. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Safe travels. We hope to be on the road tomorrow also but it doesn't look like the Houston weather gods want to cooperate with us...:(

  3. Jack and I arrived home, yesterday. I've got the wash done, have a doctor appt. tomorrow, but can't help feeling I just want to get in and go, again. Somewhere. Anywhere. Have a great trip. The Keys really are wonderful.
