Walking and Getting Rid of Stuff.

Our Location today is Miami, Florida.

Almost like clockwork I was getting out of bed by 7:00 this morning. Also just like clockwork within minutes after Kathy was making her way to the kitchen. While laying in bed last night we watched the local forecast and weren’t happy with the report. This morning there was a second scenario played out during the forecast which could mean that the storm could be less severe than originally predicted.
Since it had been a few days since we’d done any bicycling or walking we chose to walk the one mile loop around the park before it got too hot which would affect Kathy’s ability to breathe. We’d just gotten to the path when I realized I hadn’t brought the camera. Kathy sat at a picnic table while I returned to the trailer to get it.
The sign shows walkers and bicycles traveling facing one another.
As I was about to leave the trailer our neighbor who was preparing to pull out asked what part of Ontario we were from. After a few minutes of conversation it was verified that we had worked together for Ford Motor Company in not only Windsor Casting Plant but Essex Aluminum Plant as well. When there was a downturn in the industry and he faced an uncertain future he had taken a severance package and moved to North Carolina. We spent nearly ten minutes before parting ways. Kathy has gotten used to my meeting people that I’ve worked or associated with over the years stopping me to talk but in Florida after nearly twenty years. What a surprise!
One of the tent camping areas.
We finished the full loop seeing most of the park in the process. Back at the trailer there was a nice breeze and Kathy wanted to sit outside. If you remember how I had packed the basement on Sunday there wasn’t room for anything else. First to create shade I extended the awning. Then I started carefully pulling things out. Once two chairs were set up I added the sunshade we haven’t used since last year in Largo Florida.
More Banyon trees.
Kathy and I had talked of getting rid of our two gravity lounge chairs before but she suggested doing it today. We thought of a price and simply set them up next to our trailer. We then made sandwiches that we sat under the awning in the cool breeze and enjoyed for lunch.
After enjoying lunch and one another’s company we both had chores to do. I had the laundry to do and Kathy had online banking and then vacuuming to do. We both seemed to wrap up our chores by 3:00. Later for supper Kathy created a wonderful chicken stir fry from the chicken we had grilled on the Weber last week.
As we were doing the dishes the Weather Channel showed the expected storm would be starting through the middle of the night so it was decided that I should close things up outside. While I was doing that a large built gentleman inquired why we were selling the chairs and my answer was simply to make space in the basement. He tried both chairs and took the larger heavier chair. Hopefully the other chair will sell before we leave on Monday.
Tomorrow will be interesting as to how severe the storm will be and what we will do during that time. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Krackers

What do you call a box of ducklings?

A box of quackers.

  1. We have some of those gravity chairs but we keep them up in our Georgia lot because we have a cabin to store them. They take up too much room in the motorhome storage bins.

I hope you don't get any bad weather. We're watching for some rain here in the Keys as well.
