Different Kind of Walmart.

Our Location today is Miami, Florida.

We had nowhere in particular to go today but by 1:00 I was wide awake trying my best to fall asleep. Finally just after 3:00 my back told me to get out of bed so I spent the next hour and a half playing games on the computer in order to relax. Of course I slept until 8:00 to make up for my lost sleep.  The time I was out of bed Kathy lay there awake until after I was back asleep.

The weather report for this afternoon was as discouraging as yesterday’s forecast rain. After breakfast I went outside to drain the grey tanks before returning to do my morning computer reading. Kathy was busy setting the Slow Cooker to cook her honey/garlic chicken wings for our supper. (Our kids can’t get enough of these things.) When she’d completed that task she completed making her shopping list before making our quick lunch of peanut butter and jam sandwiches.
These are a kind of Pine tree growing in Florida.
Using a paper with directions supplied by the RV Park we headed to the nearest grocery store which just happened to be Walmart. Was this store ever different in the sense that the parking lot was a parking garage but luckily it had an eight foot-two inch clearance so just our antenna was hitting the cement ceiling beams. Inside it seemed that the store was not as spread out as most but very neat and organized. It had a 2nd story for car parking and you could take an escalator up to your car and your shopping cart full of the groceries you purchased rode in a slot next to you. Very unique.

As normal when we go shopping we walk around the inside of the stores for exercise. Every time we walk we look for certain items that we see other people with but can never find. Today was our lucky day because we found the most elusive item we’ve been looking for Waist Packs. These are similar to fanny packs but have holders that contain water bottles for when we are hiking or biking and we got the last two. After that we finished our grocery shopping and headed back to the trailer.

Since we had purchased meat in a larger package and had to separate it into freezer bags for two. Now we had garbage that had to be brought to the bin so it wouldn’t smell up the trailer. Remember our weather forecast for this afternoon well I didn’t make it back to the trailer as dry as when I left.
Honey/garlic chicken wings with Amish potato salad and mixed vegetable salad.

The honey/garlic chicken wings we had for supper were falling off the bone delicious as usual. The only problem was they were so good that there were no leftovers. The rain is still coming down at this time and is expected to stop during the night. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. That waist pack looks like a good idea. Will have to look at our Walmart and see if they carry them. And your dinner looks yummy.

  2. We have that exact Waist Pack. We have big water bottles that we carry with us on hikes. It is so light.
