Doctor’s Call?

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Because I didn’t set the Alarm before going to bed last night, but the moment I saw it was just after 7:00 this morning, I started my day. Since I had gotten less than Six Hours of sleep, I could not take the chance of only sleeping for another Hour. Our bodies have a habit of making up for that lost sleep, by making us late starting our day.

Since I take morning showers to energize myself, I was all cleaned up and had a snack breakfast ready for Kathy to join me. We were soon out the door.

It’s strange that city of Windsor has managed to finish off a number of the Road Construction Projects already, only to start others this late in the summer. For readers from the Southern States this may sound odd, but our Winters are not good for our roads. The constant temperature changes between Above Freezing to Below Zero (-18 C) destroys them, more than the Century temperatures of the Summer.

Arriving early for my PT appointment at ARC (Advanced Rehabilitation Center), I was brought in early. Having a talk with the Physiotherapist, I mentioned that my shoulder’s mobility has improved but the tear in the Ligament continues to cause Reflective Pain in the Bicep. It’s like putting the Cart before the Horse. We’ll find out in September.

We stopped at Wendy’s to have Grilled Chicken Wraps for lunch, before heading straight back to the Apartment. The reason for that was, we were waiting for a Phone Call from the Doctor reviewing Kathy’s Medication. We had been told that he would call between 1:00 and 2:00, to discuss test results. When I called the Office just before 3:00, the recorded message said they were closed for the weekend. Since we have a number of appointments next week, we’ll be stopping at his Office.

It was past 6:00 when we enjoyed Veggie Wraps for supper with small dishes of Sorbet for dessert.

I do appreciate the information from the Comments about the use of Bactine and Polysporin, for use in helping Kathy’s wounds. They are presently healing nicely.

We later watched more episodes of “Forensic Files” along with the “11 o’clock Local News” We are definitely cooling down.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Whose Next?

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After getting up at a decent time this morning, we settled on having Cereal for breakfast.

There was nothing that we needed to rush out to do, so we took advantage of the time to get caught up on our E-reading, News, Communications and Blogs. I even checked my Facebook account that I haven’t seen in over Month.

Due to lack of activity, we enjoyed Split Pea with Ham Soup for lunch. It was just enough to satisfy our needs.

There were new Bandages and Bactine applied to Kathy’s Abrasions from her fall in the Exercise Room on Tuesday.

We had made Plans to go out for supper while supporting a good cause like we did at DQ. Today we were headed to A&W for their “Burgers to beat MS” (Multiple Sclerosis). For every Teen Burger sold, they contributed $2.00 to Multiple Sclerosis Research. Even though it is a global issue, Canada has the highest numbers per capita.

We got home just before our daughter Karen called to see how we are doing. She suggested using Polysporin on Kathy’s wounds but recognized the Bactine as old school.

We later watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” before watching the “11 o’clock Local News”.

Years ago, when I was first given the Medication to fight the Vertigo, I was told to take them until the spinning stops, which I noted seems to be about Three Days. That was yesterday, so I didn’t take any, last night or this morning because I seem to be on the mend. After turning down the bed tonight, I was again hit by the room spinning uncontrollably. It looks like I’m back to taking those medication for Vertigo, until things get straightened around.

Words of Inspiration

It is only in pain that a woman is capable of rising above mediocrity. Her resistance to pain is infinite; one can use and abuse it without any fear that she will die, as long as some childish physical cowardice or some religious hope keeps her from the suicide that offers her a way out.”

She’s Slowly Recovering.

Kathy woke up a bit stiff this morning, as a reminder of yesterday’s fall. While having a breakfast snack we talked about the incident, but she could not remember touching anything. I only reported what my eyes saw. The next time we go to the Exercise Room, I’m insisting that Kathy use the Exercycle, because the worst that can happen is she’ll just sit there. When she fell, I didn’t realize that she clipped the Safety Clip to her top instead of the waistband on her pants, so it didn’t work. The Treadmill Belt was grinding into her, like someone getting Road Rash.

Looking out the Balcony Door, the Clouds looked like we were going to get a good soaking, but we remained dry the entire day.

Between the Computers and a few Newscasts the farthest we moved was inside the Apartment.

We enjoyed Hotdog Wraps for lunch, then for a late supper we splurged by having open Manwich Sandwiches. Cutting back on our intake is helpful, but it would be better with Exercise as well.

After a few episodes of “Forensic Files” we watched the “11 o’clock Local News”. Looks like we’ll be cooling down for the next week.

Kathy was stiffening up, when she headed to bed. We can only hope that she’s doing better tomorrow.

Kathy and The Wrong Button.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

In response to some of yesterday’s Comments. I have been struggling to sleep lately, mostly due to the Shoulder Pain. When I spoke with the Nurse Practitioner, it had been years since my last bout of Vertigo, so I never even thought to mention it.

After we enjoyed Blueberries on our Cereal for breakfast, I made a call. The Pharmacist at Health First Pharmacy, agreed that the Prescribed Medication, could have helped trigger the long dormant Inner Ear Imbalance. I mentioned using the old medication to stop the spinning sensation. The only thing he could see was that their age, the dosage would have weakened, but would still be safe to use.

We enjoyed a Caesar Salad for lunch before deciding we needed to exercise. The fact that it had been Raining on and off since midnight, we headed downstairs. One of the things the New Management Company did after making other improvements to the building, was to add a Small Gym. (When we owned our home, our Workout Room had more equipment than this does.)

I offered Kathy the Exercycle for her to use, but she recalled that was all I could use after my Hip Surgery. Luckily, today I used the Elliptical Machine right next to the Treadmill that Kathy chose to use. After getting her going at a standard gait, I started, started to adjust my machine. That was when Kathy hit the Program Button and the belt went into Hyper-Speed. I didn’t realize that she had connected the Safety Cord to her top, rather than her waistband. When she went down, I had to pull the other end of the Cord to stop the Belt, that was grinding into Kathy.

Kathy wanted me to keep exercising, but I brought her back to the Apartment for some First-Aide. She complained that it stung, but I’ve used Bactine in all my First-Aide Kits. Even the kids said it stung, but the wounds never infected. Kathy is missing skin on both Knees, a Shin, an Arm and her right Hand, a lot of Pride, but it won’t show by the weekend.

After all that excitement we simply shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pepperoni Pizza for supper.

We watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files”, before Kathy called it a night earlier than normal.

I’ll continue taking the Prescription for a few more days, unless things really goes south. As of this evening, my balance has mostly returned by simply giving the Old Medication time to work.
