Melting, Detours, Staying, Cases and Fire.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

After a couple of wakeful moments throughout the night I still managed to get enough sleep to be wide awake by 8:00 this morning. I didn’t even have things ready for breakfast when Kathy came out to join me.

Looking outside the White ground cover was still evident even on the remaining vehicles in the parking lot. By the time we finished breakfast and moved our Hot Drinks over to the Computers the warmth of the Sun itself had the SXXW on all the southern facing Balconies melting to the point it resembled feathers falling down. That’s what it looked like on the Eighth Floor I can only imagine how extreme it must have looked down on the lower floors.

We managed to get some of our reading done this morning but we had to cut it short so we could get things ready for an early lunch. Keeping it simple we had Split Pea with Ham Soup along with Maple Cookies and an Apple Sauce Cup for dessert.

By the time we finished Dishes it was time to head out the door. Getting out to the Car there was nothing left to clean off because of the Sun on the Black surface. Not needing to do that chore meant we could travel at a slower pace so we headed down the Parkway and across to Walker Road. It wasn’t until we got past the Highway 3 Intersection that I remembered the ongoing construction when I saw the Signs. We were stopped for Five Minutes before being given our turn to proceed through the newly constructed Round-About.

We didn’t even make it to McGregor when there was a Utility Truck blocking the road and detouring traffic to other concessions. Kathy said it looked like Fire Trucks and Police Cars further up the road. I was too busy driving to see that far. It looked like a game of follow the leader as the line of vehicles went from one intersection to another.

Finally returning to Walker Road south of town we were soon back on track. Even though there was more exposure to the direct Sunlight it seemed the fields were holding on to their new covering. Driving by the Willow Wood Campground and Sun Parlour Trailers showed what season it was.

Even with the Construction and Detour we still arrived at Rivertowne Dental in Amherstburg a Half Hour early for Kathy’s appointment. Hoping that she could be taken early she went inside while I waited in the Car. It paid off as Sean was just finishing another patient. Luckily there wasn’t as much work to do as the last time. Kathy was back at the Car only Ten Minutes after her original appointment.

The Detroit River.

We took 18 Highway through LaSalle back to Windsor. Then using the Expressway it didn’t take long before we arrived at Guardian Storage. After collecting our Mail we headed back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. While Kathy stayed in the Car I returned Filters for Kathy’s old CPAP Machine to the supply bin in our Unit.

Our next stop was our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh. Since our new Pencil Christmas Tree will not hold all the Ornaments we had Kathy was giving them to Karen. Since she is still working from home we had the chance to visit for a few minutes while she took a break.

Five Month Nova and Seven Year Old Sanford.

We also got the chance to visit with Sanford and Nova who was visiting. For only being just over Five Months Old she is now as big as Sanford and weighs more then him. When they lay down to rest she always has to be near Sanford.

Just look at the Paw Sizes, Nova on the Left
Sanford on the Right.

When we got back to the Apartment Kathy immediately started getting things ready for supper. She served Fresh Baked Biscuits, Sauteed Potato Slices and Spare Ribs. We topped it all off with Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine).

Our 6 o’clock Local News was pre-empted by a Football Game so we had to watch the Local News at 11 o’clock. Our detour around McGregor was caused by the Pizza Parlour catching on Fire. Since there were apartments in the same building people were displaced.

We lost another Senior in a Nursing Home to Coronavirus. It’s a good thing Kathy had her surgery last week because there are now Coronavirus Cases showing up in the Area Hospitals so there are “No Visitors Allowed“ at this time.

Just finished getting caught up on our morning reading so we’ll see what we do tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

What did the baby corn say to the mama corn?

Where’s pop corn?”

  1. Nova is going to be huge!! What a cutie pie and obviously loves Sanford.

  2. At least most of the snow melted by the time you left for your appointment. Just you all have to use snow tires when it snows heavily?

In one of the pictures you mention Willow Wood Campground and there seemed to be a lot of RV's there. I thought most campground closed for the winter in Canada. I don't know where I got that from.

Glad Kathy's dental appointment went well.

  3. They are allowed to leave their Rv's on site for next year they just winterize them. No we don't all use snow tires but some do. Individual choice.

    1. Thank you for replying to my questions Kathy.

  4. That's a cute picture of Nova and Sanford, how much bigger will Nova get?

    1. We expect that Nova will be about 125 pounds when she’s full grown which is average for a female Saint Bernard. Sanford is doing an excellent job teaching her some good manners ❤️🐶

  5. You guys keep busy all the time and if it is just to get your mail. Is good to stay active and while passing the RV place you must have thought how lucky you are to stay in an apartment and not in a camper over the winter here in Canada.

  6. So glad you got out and about....and back inside! Yeah. That photo of the two paws is sweet. I am partial to dog feet. And cat feet as well. Oh no. I like people feet as well. Maybe I am a foot fetishist! Sorry. It's been in the 40's all day down here in the warm south, and no sight of the sun. No redeeming snow either.

  7. Getting caught up on my blog reading. That Nova is going to be a big girl. Very pretty. Too bad about the covid. It is running rampant down here. Be glad when the vaccine is approved. You too be careful.
