Nice Weather, Chores Done and Late Meals.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

After a fairly restful night we were both up within minutes of one another. We discussed what we were going to do with our day at breakfast which basically set our course for the day.

After finishing my morning chores I called Canadian Blood Services. About Four Weeks ago some of the local staff were exposed to someone that tested Positive to the Coronavirus and they were temporarily closed. They normally E-mail a Two Week Reminder then a One Week Confirmation where I confirm or reschedule. With my next appointment due on Monday I had not heard from them so I needed to find out if they were open yet.

Eileen confirmed that I was still scheduled and should get the Online Questionnaire on Monday. She explained that she is still working from home. When I mentioned we were supposed to have mild temps today she mentioned that where she lives in Sudbury they could get above the Freezing Mark today. Lucky us!

I did a quick review of The Weather Network on the Computer to confirm my suspicions. It seems that at this time of year our Winds increase more in the middle to the end of the afternoon. Since that would again happen today after I checked my E-Mails I was out the door before 10:00.

Kathy stayed behind with the intent to refresh our Christmas Ornaments. Since they have been packed away since January 2012 they needed it. The Ornaments I am referring to are all Collector Angels and their Wings had become deformed. Kathy found that by steaming the wings she could return them back to their original state.

I went straight to the Trailer when I arrived at Guardian Storage. I replaced burnt Clearance Light Bulbs along with replacing a relay. It wasn’t until I opened an Access Panel and started reviewing the connections that I recalled what the problem was that was causing our Electrical Issue. When the Trailer was built the Umbilical Cord (Wire that controls the lights on the Trailer) Junction had been located above the front compartment. That compartment was designed to house a Generator so it is a Metal Box itself. In order to modify that connection I’ll have to temporarily remove the Metal Box but with the Wind starting to increase again I decided that such a chore can wait until the next time we are on the road and I get bored. I closed everything up, dropped the Tool Box off in our Storage Unit and picked up our Mail at the Office before heading for home.

It was nearly 2:00 when I walked into the Apartment. Kathy had just finished her chore with the Angels as well but neither of us had eaten since breakfast and we were starting to feel it.

Kathy made Sweet and Sour Chicken along with Vegetable Fried Rice for our late lunch. This is the Chinese Food we tried from the Frozen Food Section at the grocery store. She also served Cookies and Yogurt Cups for dessert.

We finally sat at our Computers and got caught up on other things. We had a laugh when Wayne commented about the Tree.

As for the Comments about the Solar Panels surviving the High Winds there was no doubt. I made all the brackets myself using a small Drill Press I purchased at Harbor Freight. Having worked in Industry throughout my career I knew what needed to be done. By leaving a slight space below the Solar Panels it allows the Wind to flow through. By only using Hundred Watt Solar Panels also kept the size down which meant less surface area for the Wind to get under. When fastening the Panels in place you need to be certain the Screws are going into the Roof Truss. If you only go into the Roof Sheeting it could be a disaster.

On the 6 o’clock Local News they talked about our 66 F (19 C) day being the last one for a while. The forecast shows we might not see the Sun for the next week. The Provincial Government has put the Toronto/Peal area back to only Essential Services again to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. Even though we continue to see new Cases they are slight compared to the GTA.

We waited until after the News was over before having a Roast Pork Sandwich for supper with a Chocolate Pudding Cup and a Shared Apple for dessert.

We got a few things to take care of tomorrow that should make for an interesting day. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Would a fly without wings be called a walk?

  1. Around here they have been having trouble with the virus tests. They have tested the same people twice and gotten two different results. One positive, one negative. So who knows!!

  5. Too bad you do not live in San Antonio, Texas or you would be featured on TV. The other day they did a story of a gentleman who like you donates blood regularly and YOU have made even more donations.
