Good Day With Lots Of Bad News.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

We both managed to sleep like a couple of rocks last night to the point that we slept past 8:00 this morning. By the time we had breakfast and were sitting at our Computers it was looking like we would be having a good day. We were a little curious when we didn’t see certain Blogs posted and had our personal opinions about that.

As we started drinking our Second Cup at 10:00 our phone rang. Our son Kevin needed to talk with his mom. The News was not good as he choked back tears to say his mother-in-law Sally had suddenly passed away overnight. Melissa was with her father dealing with funeral arrangements as we were being informed. He was too upset to talk anymore.
Homemade Beef/Barley Soup, Cheese with Crackers,
Clementine Oranges and Tea.
That meant we needed to head over to our Storage Unit which also meant changing our plans somewhat for the day. Kathy also wanted to go shopping more as a way to get some walking in and to get out of the Apartment. I wanted to get back to the Gym so that I could once again exercise. With our inside chores finished we set about having an early lunch and cleaning up the Dishes before heading out the door.
With Kathy driving the Car she followed me driving the Truck. Our first stop was Planet Fitness where I parked the Truck before joining Kathy in the Car.
Our next stop was Guardian Storage where we headed straight to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We spent time gathering my Suits as well as Dress Clothing that Kathy would be comfortable wearing if needed for Sally’s Funeral. We hadn’t moved our dress wear to the Apartment yet so this gave us more reason to do so. This way we would have it when it was needed. We also found a few other things that we had somehow missed bringing to the Apartment. After the Car was loaded and the Storage Unit locked up we drove over to check on the Trailer before heading back to the Office to check for Mail.
It was 3:00 by the time Kathy dropped me off back at Planet Fitness. From there she drove over to Winners to start her walking. She had a list with her of things she was still looking for but after walking every aisle in that store she didn’t find anything that was needed.
She headed over to Dollar Tree where again she walked every aisle only to walk out empty handed. Being a frugal person she then headed over to Dollarama. After walking nearly all the aisles Kathy came across the Craft Section. If you recall we were looking for a really small “Mailbox” to attach to our Apartment Door for “In-House Only Mail”. There hanging on a hook was a small “Mailbox” almost identical to the sketch that I had drawn. That and a few Craft Paints came home with her.
I had a Wonderful Workout starting and finishing with Cardio while working with Free Weights and Resistance Machines in between. There was one problem I was feeling so good that I forgot the time. After a much needed shower it was nearly 6:00 by the time I headed for the door.

Since this was “Whopper Wednesday” I stopped at Burger King to pick up our supper.

Once parked at the Apartment I headed inside only to share the elevator with Three Other Men. Looking what everyone had Three of us were bringing Burger King meals home.

As soon as I walked in the door Kathy gave me more Bad News. Our Friend George Yates from the blog Our Awesome Travels had passed away this morning. George always tried to encourage other RVers when it came to Boon-DockingOff the Grid” or how to cook using his Weber Q Grill. George was also the person who dreamed of creating the “Blogger Fest” where not only Bloggers but Followers as well could meet while in the Quartzsite area in the Winter. What George thought was a Pulled Muscle turned out to be Pancreatic/Liver Cancer. Today after nearly Three Months George lost his battle. He will be very much missed.

Our daughter Karen called giving Kathy a more in depth report on what the Doctors at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit had told her about her brother Ken’s condition and their recommendations on Lifestyle and Dietary Changes. We watched more CNN rhetoric about not only the Impeachment of President Donald Trump but they were reviewing last night’s Democratic Presidential Debate and things that happened afterwards. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
