Now
that 2019 is a thing of the past we both would like to once again
wish everyone a Safe, Happy and Health New Year.
We
actually managed to actually stay awake watching a Hallmark
Christmas Movie that actually ended with the couple
kissing at the stroke of Midnight. Then we had the chance to
talk while we cuddled before actually going to sleep by 1:00 this
morning.
Surprisingly
we were having breakfast by 9:00 before taking our Coffee/Tea
over to the Computers. Kathy got/sent Happy
New Year Wishes to/from Family and Friends
while I got/sent Wishes to/from
our Friends that follow our Blog. The Wind was
still blowing but not nearly as hard as the last few days and since
the temperature was supposed to get above the Freezing Mark we
thought about going out.
Since
we weren’t sure what we’d be doing later we had Perogies
for lunch with Yogurt and Cookies for dessert. Kathy
was sad to report that she had used the last of the Berry/Berry
Tea that we got from Annabelle’s
in Kingsville. There were a few
more Blogs published after lunch that I needed to read before
heading outside.
Even
though the temperature had finally gotten above the Freezing Mark
there was still plenty of SXXW to clean off the Car and
Truck. Even though there was a lot of water on the pavement I
suddenly found myself flaying my arms to regain my balance after my
feet decided not to stay under me. I was lucky and landed standing
back in a water puddle instead of that slippery spot that I’d just
left.
It
only took a few minutes to clean the Car but when it came to
cleaning the Tonneau Cover on the Truck it was a little
harder. As the Sun had been melting the SXXW it refroze
to form a Half Inch Thick Slab of Ice. It took
nearly Fifteen Minutes to get that safely removed. Most would
ask why bother cleaning the Cover in the first place. The
reason is because I needed to roll up the Tonneau Cover so I
could access my Parts Organizers. Having Seven of those
Organizers stacked in one of the Cabinets in the
Truck-Bed it was only understandable that the parts I needed
were located in the bottom Organizer.
When
I got back upstairs it was Kathy who said she saw me taking an
unexpected slide in the parking lot. The reason she mentioned it was
because we planned on going out and this meant she wasn’t going out
to the parking lot. Instead we rode the elevator down together but
she waited for me to bring the Car to the Rear Entrance
before coming out.
When we arrived. |
Since
we’ve been inside the Apartment for the last couple of days
we decided to go out for supper. With Gift Cards we received
in hand the place we chose was East Side
Mario’s but were we in for a surprise. It seemed we
weren’t the only ones thinking like that. We waited nearly Fifteen
Minutes before getting a table. Since they have redone their
Menus it was another Ten Minutes before we ordered.
Within minutes we had our Beverages and Soup but we
would wait nearly a Half Hour before getting our meals.
When we left. |
We
were entertained watching families with very young children coming in
to dine. Some of the children were well behaved while others not so
like the couple who walked in with their Four Year Old Triplets
that all wanted mom and dad to let them do what they wanted. After a
single attitude adjustment all was good.
Back
home
we watched more Hallmark
Christmas Movies.
Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s
about time.

Glad you did not fall. It was a good idea to pick up Kathy at the rear entrance rather than making her walk out.
ReplyDeleteI know you are Canadian but I have no idea how you can put up with such cold weather and all that snow!
Is East Side Mario's an Italian establishment?
Yeah, you got to watch that black ice it will fool you.
ReplyDeleteFalling on that hard ice would not be fun at all. Glad you regained your balance!!
ReplyDeleteBlack ice is one of the horrors of Canadian winters that I sure don't miss. Be careful!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Glad you were able to regain your balance and not end up on the ground. Do not miss walking on that ice at all.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Took our grandson out to lunch in our little town yesterday. WE like to go at 1 so it's not so busy..not the case on New Years Day! That sounded really slippery, glad you didn't fall!
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't hurt your back. It has taken a month for me to get rid of low back pain just from doing to much raking and leave lifting in one day before I left home. I've found everything is crowded around the holidays. We just have to learn patience.
