Bad News, High Prices and “Get Out”.

This morning we were in no hurry to do anything so we busied ourselves getting caught up on the Computers along with our morning chores.

The last time we spoke with our friend Vera she was suffering from a Bladder Infection but Kathy having known her longer then myself sensed that there was something else wrong. This morning Kathy gave her a call to find Vera was upset as she had just received the results of her tests. The Biopsy came back Positive. What makes it so difficult for Vera is that since her husband Bill passed last February she has no Family and very few friends around here. Kathy will go with Vera as she takes on this new challenge in her life. As everyone knows the “Power of Prayers” is always helpful.

When it came time for lunch Kathy toasted English Muffins that she served with an Apple Sauce Cup with a mug of Tea.

Even though I would have liked to go to the Gym to work out I sensed that Kathy was beginning to feel like a recluse so I suggested we go out. We checked the movie listings at the local Theaters before heading out to Tecumseh. As we got closer I suggested we grab an early supper. Using a Gift Card we stopped at Harvey’s where we both had Chicken Wraps.

When we arrived at the Lakeshore Cinema we found no Ticket Window so followed others to the Kiosks. When we saw the price of $46.00 for Two Tickets we turned and left. One person said it was because of the Recliners. We figure we have Recliners at the Apartment and movies on DVDs that we haven’t seen.

First we stopped at the Bulk Barn to pick up more Cranberries, Nuts, Raisins and Tea along with a couple small Snacks.

When we turned the DVD Player on there was no Audio. Being that it had been in storage for nearly Four Years a couple of Wires were incorrectly connected.

We watched a movie called “Get Out” which we both thought a little weird. It was slow paced with only a little action near the end.

Not sure what tomorrow brings so we’ll let you know. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Sorry to read about your friend. I am sure it will be a comfort for her to have Kathy there with her.
$46.00 seems a little steep for a movie even with recliners or even if it included the popcorn and pop. We would have walked out, also.

  2. So sorry to hear about Vera. It's nice of you both to help her out. It's scary enough without going through that alone.

  3. Wow $46.00 and I thought $6.00 a ticket was too high. Nancy and I have not been to the movie's in years.

  7. Wishing your friend well. I got the bad news from my cousin yesterday too. Living so far in the country, going to a movie is a bit of an ordeal for us. Our theatre is much cheaper, but that long drive at night isn't a pleasure. I recently had a free month offer from NETFLIX. We enjoyed it so much we decided to pay up for the month of February. Hopefully by then we will be able to get out of the house and do more. HOPE.

  8. I am so sorry to hear about your friend...glad she is going to have Kathy by her side during this difficult time.

I have not been to the movies since the early 1990's. I would have walked away as well.
