Unexpected Rain, Birthday Celebration and Neighbour’s Campfire.

Our Location today is at McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Having closed the Slider Windows last night just in case that it might Rain. It didn’t take very long to have them all open this morning to let the breeze help offset the increasing temperatures. We did our usual chores along with Kathy’s Eyedrops to aid her Eye’s healing process. She was even able to start walking around inside the Trailer without wearing her Sunglasses. Since the Surgery she has really noticed just how bright things actually are. The only thing that she finds bothersome about the entire process is all the Eyedrops that we are constantly putting in her eyes.
Green Float is actually above the 1/2" mark.
Shortly after lunch the Clouds started filling the Sky but according to the forecast we weren’t supposed to get any Rain today. I was about to go outside to grill a couple of Hotdogs around 5:00 when the Rain started coming down hard so we simply heated them in the Frying Pan. We barely finished cooking them when the Rain stopped. Checking our Rain Gauge, it showed that we had received a Half Inch of Rain in Half an Hour.

As we were leaving our neighbour Carol waved us over to ask Kathy how she was feeling her after her Surgery. She had brought a friend to the Hospital for the same procedure, on the same day but later in the morning and he was saying the same thing as Kathy’s been saying. Unbelievable Clarity!

We arrived at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house in Amherstburg shortly before 6:30 to celebrate our grandson Matthew’s 16th Birthday. Melissa had set up some snacks for everyone to enjoy even though we’d eaten supper before heading over. Matthew appreciated all the Gifts that he received. We all sat outside in the garage where it was more then comfortable just by running a single fan.
Matthew enjoying his Gifts and Cake.
Kevin has really made progress on his Street Rod since the last time we saw it. Having finished the Body, he is now working on the Chassis. This is the point where he has to fine tune all the brackets before finishing the welding.

It was 9:30 when we got back Home but our neighbours Kevin and Lorrie called over for us to join them at their Campfire. We figured a few minutes wouldn’t hurt so we went over. Bill and Liz were also there so when Kathy explained about having Eye Surgery they all had questions to ask. They also asked more about our travels out west. It was past 10:30 when we finally headed Home to do the last of Kathy’s Eyedrops for the night.

Tomorrow besides continuing with the Post-Operation Eyedrops on Kathy’s Right Eye we also start the Pre-Op Eyedrops in her Left Eye. That’s going to be fun keeping track of all that. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Gotta love CAKE!!! When I had my eye surgery, they put in lenses that were still in the testing stage. It was like I had been looking through gauze that someone just lifted off my head. It's been ten years now and I'm back to wearing glasses for closeup vision, but the fuzzy has never returned. You'll be amazed after they do the second surgery.

  2. I agree with you and Kathy. The drops were a pain in the neck, but the payoff is great! Looking at Matthew made me think back to my eldest son's 16th birthday. In the twitch of an eye, he retired a couple of weeks ago after working for Kimberly Clark for over 35 years. Time flies.
